The Binding of Isaac Rebirth

GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - Check out Summer Games Done Quick

Back to the work week, my friends. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I certainly did, hanging with friends and family. Can't complain about that! Now let's get this damn week out of the way and do it all over again! See you in a few, short hours.

The entire 'Games Done Quick' live stream charity event is mind-boggling. If you've never checked it out, you absolutely have to. I can't think of any other event where such a varied group of people came together to show off their extreme talents, all in the name of helping out charity. I can't express how truly interesting I find these events, or how fantastic I think it is that people donate their time and skills to help others around the world.

I didn't get into the Games Done Quick scene until a couple years back, but I was completely hooked once I did. The things these gamers pull off in their speed-runs is unbelievable. We're talking about top-level play, pixel-perfect movements and all sorts of glitches and skips that seem impossible at first. Seeing people blow through games in minutes that take 60+ hours to beat normally just never gets old.

Like I said, the best part is that all this is in the name of charity. This time around, the entire gang is working to help out Doctors Without Borders. Certainly a worthy cause, and one that the team has played for before. After just one day, the live-stream charity event has already pulled in over $219k, which is a huge amount! I don't know what's better...the people playing these games for charity, or the viewers forking over hard-earned cash to help people the world over.

So yeah...hit up the stream and check it out. We've put it after the jump due to autoplay. Even if you don't donate, I guarantee you'll see some footage that'll keep you watching long into the night.

Australia - Happy days on 3DS with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

To celebrate the launch of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems on 3rd October, Nintendo Australia is launching a range of new products - including an all-new hardware bundle - to give fans of the series and new players alike a variety of options to enjoy a one-of-a-kind handheld gaming experience that only Nintendo offers.

From 3rd October, Animal Crossing fans with a penchant for interior or exterior design can go all out with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Join the Nook’s Homes family business and make hundreds of your favourite animals happy by designing their dream home – some might even ask you to spruce up their garden! Go beyond home decor and try your hand at bigger projects like a school or a café and assign unexpected roles to some of your favourite animal friends.

At launch, a limited number of copies of the game sold in stores will come with one special amiibo card that allows the player to call up the card’s character and let their imagination run wild designing a house for them. What kind of home would you build for Tom Nook or Isabelle? Additional amiibo cards will be sold separately in packs of three. Out of these three, one card will always be a special amiibo card, meaning it features a character whose house you won’t be able to build without using its amiibo card. Each card can be used across multiple copies of the game, so they’re perfect for collecting and trading with friends.

Owners of New Nintendo 3DS or New Nintendo 3DS XL systems can tap the amiibo card to the NFC area on the bottom screen, while owners of original Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS systems can purchase the NFC Reader/Writer accessory to enjoy amiibo functionality in compatible software.

The launch of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer for Nintendo 3DS will be accompanied by the following additional releases on 3rd October:

New Nintendo 3DS XL Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Edition: a white New Nintendo 3DS XL system with a unique, game-themed cover design, a download code for a digital copy of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and one special amiibo card (SRP AU$269.95)

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer + NFC Reader/Writer Pack: a physical copy of the Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer game, one special amiibo card and the NFC Reader/Writer accessory (SRP AU$69.95)
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Standalone Game (SRP AU$59.95)
Standalone NFC Reader/ Writer accessory (SRP AU$29.95)
New Nintendo 3DS Cover Plates: one features K.K. Slider and the other features a variety of animals from the series (SRP AU$17.95 each)

RUMOR - Dragon Quest XI coming to 3DS, PS4

Here's a juicy rumor for you guys and gals. We're all hoping that Dragon Quest XI is going to come to a Nintendo platform, but it wasn't looking too likely. We heard that Square-Enix was bringing the next entry to consoles. Wii U didn't seem plausible, but we've also heard in the past that Square-Enix brings their games to the most popular platforms in Japan. There's no denying 3DS is the most popular platform out right now, and a 2ch rumor tied to the earlier leaked logo is saying that the title will get both 3DS and PS4 versions. Ni no Kuni saw DS and PS3 releases, so such unique platform support isn't out of the question. Thanks to VGAMER for the heads up!
