Nintendo remains tight-lipped on SNES Classic Edition rumors

Suprised to see Nintendo skirting the question about an SNES Classic Edition? We aren't either, but it sure would have been nice to hear something different. Nintendo is going to be classic Nintendo on this one and reveal the platform's existence when they're good and ready. You know, if it exists...

Fire Emblem Heroes has less than 1/10th of Super Mario Run's downloads, but has made more money

Well there's the story right there. Nintendo has been open to trying all sorts of approaches to mobile games, including different methods of charging consumers. The upfront $10 price for Super Mario Run didn't sit well with many consumers. Fire Emblem Heroes takes the microtransactions approach, and while the install base for Heroes is much smaller, it's clear the daily revenue from that title has helped it to surpass what Super Mario Run brought in.

Super Mario Run nearing 150 million downloads

Super Mario Run keeps on trucking in the downloads department. While Nintendo hasn't said how many consumers went from free to paid, they did say that the title is about to hit 150 million downloads between iOS and Android. How many of you guys grabbed the game and paid the $10?

Genyo Takeda retiring from Nintendo

Genyo Takeda, who has been with Nintendo for quite awhile now, is going to be retiring. Nintendo put out a notice as part of their fiscal year 2016 report. Mr. Takeda has had his hand in all sorts of works at Nintendo, being one of the main minds behind the creation of the Wii. Takeda will be replaced by Ko Shiota, who is currently the Executive Officer and General Manager of Platform Technology Development Division.
