Colors 3D! - review

A portion of a GameXplain review...

...I wholeheartedly recommend Colors! 3D to anyone who is interested in drawing or painting and has a 3DS. Yes, there still isn't a magic cure to painting bad art but this app can help you practice and learn how to improve while on the go.

Another winner for the eShop, apparently.

bought it on day one. great app. wished it gave an advance option where there are more layers. 5 is still great, but to make pictures look more natural i think more are needed. Even the examples provided although stunning doesn't look quite natural (more layers in between would certainly make a better illusion instead of looking like cutouts). I think if there was one popout layer that would be cool since there are only depth layers.

I got this, and Art Academy, and sadly, these are the most layers we'll get out of a 3DS Art program, unless more arrive. I do, however, think five is enough in terms of 3D, since most games have five levels of depth anyway.

well since its 3d wouldn't one popout layer make sense? swap note has two, one for depth and one for popout

this guy makes beautiful 3d art on his computer and you can view it on the 3ds. his uses lots of layer but as a result it looks more natural.

Keep in mind that he may have used software outside of the 3DS. In this case, the software he used is more expensive than Colors! 3D.

of course he's using another software. It's obvious. I showed his work to show that more layers = more natural. my whole point is colors 3d should have had an advance option with more layers. adding just one POPOUT layer would have made a difference. That much wouldn't be too much too ask.

and in response to your price comment, he used photoshop plus a stereophotomaker. You can use something else like photoshop if you don't have it and the stereophoto maker is free. So if you know your way around the computer you can get everything for free. You might have to pay for photoshop if it didn't come with your computer or borrow a copy from a friends. i never seen anyone buy a software before. Or just another drawing software that you can find.
