The following blurb pertains to Reika Morishita, the woman behind the Rockman DASH theme songs. She's going to be reprising her role on the tracks, but it seems that the sales of this 'album' could mean big things for Mega Man Legends 3.
"To support our community, she is going to release her Mega Man Legends soundtrack reprisals at the end of May or early July, tentatively. During the meeting yesterday, she said that if her new soundtrack makes over 20,000 sales, Capcom Japan is likely to release the Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version on the e-shop. Although there are no guarantees, keep in mind she is a well-networked individual."
It's not a gaurantee by any means, but it's the most positive thing we've heard about Mega Man Legends 3 in a long time. Having that prototype hit the eShop would be great, and of course, it gives me hope for the future of the Legends series in general!

@jaktheterrible
I'm not saying they mistreat their staff, I hate them because they are everything I hate about any company in this industry, combined.
@led-naruto
I do care, I want the game it looks interesting, I just don't like Capcom using it's dead corpse as a means of boosting sales for unrelated crap.
@motherbra1n
Saying it being unrelated crap is offensive for the artist that made the music, at least someone should be grateful she made it and is releasing it.
And yes I agree with disliking Capcom who keeps this game popping out, which I don't know for what reason they are doing it.
@motherbra1n
See, I feel that way about Capcom. They've all but killed off Mega Man as of late, on-disc DLC in games such as Resident Evil 5, spotty sequels like Lost Planet 2, rehashing games over and over - MvC3 (Ultimate version announced 5 months after release) and then Street Figher IV, Super Street Fighter IV, etc. come to mind, prohibiting players from erasing data in Resident Evil: Mercenaries, now this whole Mega Man Legends 3 fiasco, and just an overall lack of quality or imagination in their games. I've been playing games from the NES era and fondly remember good Capcom games that rivaled some of Nintendo's titles such as Duck Tales, the many Mega Man and X games, Breath of Fire, etc.
To sum the current state of Mega Man (and Capcom itself): It is ass.
Since it's not a guarantee, I see this as a way to use the situation to gain sales. I may get it but it depends...
20.000 is a lot for japan , well i think , higher price , small fanbase for this kind of product , that doesn't bode well . They should anyway , it's free money now , they don't really have to produce the game after that .

I'll leave this hear guys
Where would you be able to get the soundtrack? I would like to get the music, even if the chance of the game prototype coming here is slim.
@Eliskor
They've done that before.
They said if RE4 and Umbrella Chronicles sold well on Wii, they'd either make a real RE on Wii or remake an older title like RE2 or 3.
Both sold great and they were praising the sales, and instead we got ports of Gamecube games and Darkside Chronicles.
Darkside was amazing, but not what we were promised.
Capcom, either release the game or don't release it but moves like this are what started the MML3 controversy from the get go. Plz change your business tactics and respect the fans and developers, k thx bai.
I didn't realize this, but she's doing this because of the "Get Me Off The Moon" facebook page. They are international, and their team in Japan met with her. To show her support of the community she told them that she would release her album for the game...because of her strong connections with Capcom if the sales on that are good, they should have no reason to not release the prototype version....but then again there are no guarantees with this.

great to see capcom still blackmailing it's fans.
pathetic
No hell in chance I`ll buy that!
@MoldyClay
no darkside was not amazing, it was a complete waste of space and insult to myself and many others.
Not sure how to feel about this.
I do absolutely want Capcom to develop and release MML3, but buying a soundtrack just so that they MAYBE end up releasing a demo that I have to buy, after which they'll maybe release the game... Nah. I'll buy the game when/if it's released, but not the demo or anything.
I can understand not wanting the album, but if you were looking forward to this game I can't understand not wanting the prototype version. (that will only be like $2)...but hey, that's just me.
Jeeez quite a few negative Nancy's in here. While I understand that Capcom is being incredibly greedy lately and pissing off a lot of fans BUT I don't think we should ignore Reika Morishita hard work. So if you dig video game music then why not support Reika? Who knows you may actually like the music enough to buy it
I bet if Reika Morishita didn't mention about the prototype, people would of ignore this article/album. I know Capcom will most likely not do anything even if the album sells over 20,000 copies but hey at least Reika is trying! Since I am not the biggest fan on playing mega man games, I am however a HUGE fan of video game music across all genres. In my opinion, video game music artist's don't really get as much respect/credit for their work.
Anyways, thanks for posting this RMC and keep me updated when Reika Morishita releases some samples or a few songs for free before I decide if I want to fork over the $ for Reika Morishita MML3 soundtrack/album.
Cheers!
I'm buying this.
reika sounds all right. capcom however are not the capcom i grew up and enjoyed.
until they start putting out other franchises than just relying on resident evil and streetfighter and treat their consumers and fans with respect, then i have no interest what they do.
I smell a rat from Capcom.. All they want is profit and will sell Prototype then no full game after that. A blackmail or something. Shame on you, Capcom.
Enjoy the importing fees.
....have they no pride?
I'm gunna stick with my original theory and say that Capcom decided to cancel Mega Man Legends 3 after Mega Man's creator not only quit, but proceeded to completely trash the entire Japanese gaming industry.
The heads at Capcom probably heard him say all this and replied like "Okay, you wanna burn bridges? Boom. Cancelled. AND to add insult to injury we're gunna completely ignore the Mega Man series in its entirety."
Yes, it might come off as if Capcom is cutting off their nose to spite their face, but I don't doubt for a second that they cancelled it to spite Inafune. As much as the Japanese industry might be lacking, you still don't burn your bridges. That's all I'm saying.
I think that people should just stop talking about it. Because the more people ask about it, the more companies feel they should respond.
Agreed, and not only that but it seems that most of the comments missed the actual story entirely. That the artist made these comments in a "this should get their attention" way, NOT Capcom. Just wow...
At this point, RMC can put "Capcom" and anything in a story, and the haters will pour out of the woodwork. Capcom may have earned that, but in this case it seems they didn't read the story, just saw the word Capcom and started raging. Ah, the internet..
The literacy level here, or lack there of, is astounding.....
