They had me at the girl grabbing Ezio to put him on the controller O_O... The game looks gorgeous! I might have to buy it...

@MoldyClay
Sega was actually the first to come up with an internal cross over fighter, (not counting marvel vs capcom series because that's not incompany characters)
it was released for the saturn, and it had virtua fighter characters, daytona usa and others
can't remember the name though

Skylanders inspired extra content?
Gotta say, if there is actually an AC inspired level ... I might pick up an Ezio figure (and I don't even like Ezio!)

For me, I don't have a problem with it at all really. I was simply poking fun at Sony just because of some of the things they've said in the past about Nintendo. Honestly, I'm kinda glad they came out with their own version so Team Sakurai won't get lazy and complacent. New entry, new system(s), time to step it up.

I own a PS3 so I'll keep an eye on it until it's released.

@Zug Zug

Well, I was specifically talking about 4 player crossover party fighting. Not games that play like Street Fighter or Tekken.

I think you're talking about Fighters Megamix? But yeah, that and MvC are more traditional fighters.

SSB is barely a real fighter (unless you try playing the game like it is one).

A closer example would be DreamMix TV World, but that's also not incompany exclusive (since it's Konami, Hudson and Takara) and it came out after Melee anyway.

@Ry

Oh, my comment wasn't meant as an attack or anything. Just making comments regarding that.

And I agree. It's good for there to be competition (which a lot of gamers seem to not understand). While I have no doubts that SSB4 will be better than Sony's game, this potentially means they will strive for even better at Nintendo, instead of settling for the minimum.

Although Sakurai likes to go out of his way to pump SSB full of stuff, so I guess there's not too much to worry about.

Obviously, placing the Ezio statue on the controller will populate the world with screaming Ezios, just like with the Rabbids.

Also, I'm kinda disheartened to see most of the players using Wii Remotes. :(

Still, I like the look of this much better than Origins.

So does the fact that the trailer contained background music from How To Train Your Dragon and Back to the Future discredit it at all? Or does Ubisoft have a history of stealing music?
User avatar

@Wonkoo

Ubisoft went on to announce that this leaked/was real.

So I guess they steal music.

Or it's important, and it will have the DeLorean.

Not to get off of track about Rayman but people trying to make the point that sony didn't really take the idea from nintendo about SSB but they did. Yes nintendo may have not been the first to have the internal cross over fighter, but SSB is a unique fighter, the gameplay is not the same as a standard 2d or 3d fighter and sony has copied the exact look and gameplay of a smash game. sorry but dont be delusional, this has nothing to do with being a "fanboy", or bashing sony.. its an unashamed copy

Hmm while it looks good, i definitely hope controlling a character with the touch pad isnt a regular thing, Ive never been a fan of that even with the DS.

Oh and the back to the future theme in there was pretty random.

Watching this brings a smile to my face and I don't even play Rayman games. :D

I think the figurines will be a great way to purchase DLC for collectors and kids. I am gonna love buying physical toys instead of entering my credit card info. Which one sounds more fun?

Also, this could push for a resurgence of video game mascots (which would play heavily in Nintendo's favor).

Lastly, think about unlockables: My Smash Bros. go-to character is Marth. I'll still unlock him on my home console, but I'd also pay a few buck to have a figurine. Then I could unlock him right away when playing on other people's consoles if they haven't yet, AND I'd have a cool collectible Marth figure!

Hm, from my perspective a side-ways Wii remote has been the best controller for platforming games. Maybe it's because I grew up on the NES, who knows :roll:

So did I, but I don't see how an awkwardly thick, oddly-shaped controller with only two very small action buttons, a tiny (though decent) d-pad, and hard-to-reach start and select buttons is the best controller available. The SNES controller was a definite improvement over the NES pad, and most standard controllers these days are based heavily on that design.

Oh dear god. DO WANT.

I sure hope they bring this one to PC. I'm having a lot of fun with Origins, and I'd hate to have to buy a new system to be able to play the sequel.

I'm sure as shovel that it will see a Steam release. 360/PS3/WiiU/PC for sure.

I wonder if they'll have even more to show/add to the game at e3. If this trailer was all that they have, then it won't be a surprise at the show anymore.

Most people would argue in favor of the sideways wiimote, as would I.

Do you play with or without the rubber skins? I find the skins' mold quite comfy. Makes it much more comfortable when using the Wiimote on it's side.

Actually I was kinda hoping that with the reveal of PSAS: Battle Royal's usage of pro fighting game players to help craft it, this could get all those whiners that harp on sakurai and his team for making brawl, to troll on to brighter pastures. They can have their competative game, and let Sakurai and his team do what THEY want and suprise us. Yah know? Kinda like how they did when they made the 64 and melee iterations. :?

This looks f-ing amazing! But I don't care for the Wii U features. Just good that I don't need another console to play this.

I am so excited for this, I've been playing Rayman Origins practically nonstop! I'm working to get every smile, and then maybe the medals as well!
