"Frankly, I compare this to predictions in the 1950s when people said television was going to destroy motion pictures... TV didn't destroy movie box office, YouTube didn't destroy TV and mobile games are not going to wipe out the console business; quite the opposite." - EA CEO John Riccitiello
Mr. Riccitiello makes a very good point. I think it's a point that most of us gamers already knew, but sometimes these higher-ups need to make statements like this in order to make investors wisen up.

But video did kill the radio star.
begone hitler, we don't want you on our side.

"Mobile won't kill console games....
...WE WILL."
I feel they help each other, not hurt each other.
@motherbra1n
I would normally say "Godwin much?", but it's just too easy...
I totally agree with this statement. Mobile will not kill consoles... only enhance it. Actually currently I believe mobile gaming is hurting the gaming environment in more ways than one. A lot of people think they like mobile games and the low prices, but I don't believe all this shovelware (you want to talk shovelware), and ad-supported games are what people will come back for. Mobile gaming is only popular because phones are essentially a necessity. Mobile games need to grow up and become supplemental to actually become relevant and long lasting.
