It's that additional letter that is the "problem." Some company that uses a stylized U as their logo claims that the Wii U will confuse people or tarnish their rep or something stupid like that.

Isn't that Lego game also coming out for the 3DS? He must have mistype it since he was hyper and such....

Good to know about that online, I wonder what Sega Aus. is working on, and if Lego City Stories for the 3DS at the same time I'm getting both so I can check out the C.C features

C'mon people. Green and white? YOSHI!!!

Wii U is a stupid name. Wii was bad enough first time round, though I eventually got used to it. You can tell it was the Japanese that came up with the name.

I can't believe that more people aren't hyped for Lego City. It's just like GTA... but with LEGOs.

They should keep it as they first declared it. Wii for the families, U for the core gamer in the family.
The Wii name is a household name to every gamer, new and old.
Any other name would just confuse people, sony is swimming in an ocean of raw sewage thanks to the playstation brand being toxic, and the vita name being almost as bad as wega, not to mention how bad the hardware/software itself turned out.

@link2metroid "YOSHI!!!" That does sound plausible, but for the Wii U? I don't know. Maybe a 3D platformer

The colors Green and White are reference to the rumored device that comes bundled with Wii U giving it StreetPass Functionality. With no official name, Developers are calling it a "Gamer Card" http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/rumor ... 452454735/ White matches the Wii U, and Green matches Streetpass Notifications. Thoughts?

WiiU, WiiU, for the WiiU, on my WiiU... Damn, that's a dumb sounding word.

Anyways, I can't figure what the green and white reference can be other than Yoshi, but if that's the case then PLEASE!! let it be a Yoshi's Island 2D sequel.

I'm guessing Wii 2 was just to ensure people knew what he was talking about, I doubt TT Games has any major information, that would come from Ubisoft or EA

I knew that Nintendo will probably not change the name of Nintendo's new home console. But something tells me that the relationship between the core gamers and Nintendo is worsening which is not good at all.

Wii U is a dumb name, then again so is the Wii, but oh well. So long as the games are good.

@LegendofZelda1996

Considering the bulk of gaming cash these days comes from CASUAL titles, I fail to see how that would be a horrible thing.

Strictly 'hardcore' gamers are very self important and have a false sense of entitlement.

Zelda sales - about 8 million
Wii Sports Resort sales - about 30 million

I don't know if this in particular withstood the test of time, but for at least a year or so there has already been a rumor about a Yoshi platformer game by Good-Feel (Wario Land: Shake It!, Kirby's Epic Yarn) that's yet to be debunked. Part of its credibility stems from the fact that it popped up at the same time with a bunch of other rumors that were mostly if not entirely spot-on.

Just some food for thought.

@TheBitBlock
My definition of core gamers are different from hardcore gamers. The core gamers are gaming enthusiasts who play all of the consoles and plays all video game genres while the hardcore gamers are gamers who only plays with one console (I will not mention which console since it is obvious) and who only plays one video game genre.

And I think that Nintendo improving their relationship with the core gamers is the only way that Nintendo could tell all gamers that they are serious about catering to both the core gamers and the casual gamers equally.

Something 'White and Green' is interesting....

Gotta be a logo! and like someone mentioned earlier...GTA definitely springs to mind or COD maybe?

Nintendo needs to announce games like this to be taken seriously..so heres hoping.
