The following is a Google translation featuring Dave Cox, explaining how he would like Lords of Shadow 2 on Wii U, but why it isn't happening.
"Yes, of course ... But it's a resource problem if we would employ 300 people, then we would probably like a U Wii. - Vita or PS4 version do (laughs) We have to manage our resources very carefully -.., a team can in fact be too large " - Dave Cox, Mercurysteam
In other words, if the team had more people, something like this could be possible. They just don't have the manpower to work on a Wii U version while still handling the 360/PS3/PC outings.

Expect to hear this sort of thing all the time.
meh , doesn't change the fact that unlike the others versions they made a companion game for the 3ds . It's quite clear (ambassadors and all that) that the 3ds owners are also wii u potential owners ... unlike the others .
And it just reeks of nintendo having to front some marketing money or "incentives" without any real return .... unlike the others .
But since even namco is doing the very minimum with one main tekken and a quick port by a small team of an old game , i guess it's an explanation at least . Namco is receiving the biggest incentive possible in the form of the two games smash bros .
at least it's on pc also
i agree ridley. we will be reading this very often, especially early on in the Wii U's lifecycle.
i just hope the next sony/MS consoles aren't so far ahead of Wii U as that could be a further hindrance for Wii U getting 3rd party games as we shift into next gen.
Wii U am doa.
But seriously, it's going to be a long battle.
This is probably because the game being ported to the WiiU would be a "risk" compared to a "safe" launch on the PS3, 360, or PC. Companies will wait until the WiiU market is really strong and about 10 million or so people own WiiU consoles.
Plus, a WiiU port would probably cost more, seeing as how it isn't as easy. This will be because nobody working on Lord of Shadows 2 has worked with the console yet, as well as that the graphical and processing standards will be higher for the console. To "match" games in terms of processing and graphical power on the WiiU will cost quite a sum of money.
Until the market (size and audience) for WiiU is "clear," this will be the norm for most games that won't easily make hundreds of millions of dollars.
I think there is a learning curve and until there is an install base, some people (especially small developers) are not going to want to take that leap.
It is unfortunate but true.
Ironically, they will probably take that step when other new units are out there, even if there is a 10M install base for the WiiU.

Although it's disappointing, it's very understandable; the fact of the matter is that they barely have any games under their belt, and don't have such a large studio because of it. At least we're getting Mirror of Fate.
Ports cost money, I get that, and they don't have any experience with the wiiu, but this really is a game that should show up on the system
The Wii U won't get that install base soon if the games don't show up.
Because it's gonna be a piece of shovel and can't get compared to 4 and sotn.
It's a piece of shovel since it won't hit a Nintendo system. YEah, we get it!
This causes the issue of the WiiU continuing on getting ports of games that have been already released long before on the other consoles, or possibly missing them entirely... At least until there's an stablished user base.
I understand where they are coming from, but it's still really lame.
But I was getting it on 360 anyway, just sucks for everyone else since we're getting the "middle" game on Nintendo platforms. Could always be ported later. Or get a Complete Edition down the line. Though it's not like this has never happened before (Kingdom Hearts).
@player value
Hahahaha... oh wait, you're serious.
So it's a piece of crap because it's not on your preferred console? That sucks for you, who thinks any game you're not allowed to play is bad.
Enjoy missing quality titles, bro.
I've played around 16 Castlevania titles spanning classics, Metroidvania, and 3D games, across like 12 or so consoles/portables. Lords of Shadow is amazing. You have no idea what you're talking about.
P.S. - Super Castlevania IV is great, but Castlevania III was loads better, and SotN is overrated (though an amazing game). And in case you didn't know, it's not on a Nintendo platform, so you should be hating it. Oops!
