5th Cell can't talk about what's delaying Scribblenauts Unlimited in Europe

“It’s due to stuff I can’t talk about until 2013. Scribblenauts and Super Scribblenauts were released NA and EU the same day. Trust me. I want your money. It’s due to things outside of development.” - 5th Cell's Jeremiah Slaczka

That seems a bit fishy to hear that. Let's hope whatever issue exists is going to be patched up soon.

"Trust me, I want your money"

How you can tell he's being honest...

... I don't get it - something more important than Christmas sales boom? :?

Lengthy translation times shouldn't be an excuse [for anyone] in 2012.

They might have to translate it to every language in Europe.. which takes time.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, an RPG, on the DS came out mere weeks after the US release - sorry, no one has a foot to stand on regarding lengthy translations in this digital age.

Uh, translating over thousands of words in multiple languages? Big difference here

It won't be a translation issue, as that's part of development. I'm guessing it's some copyright issue of something in the game that differs between regions.

I don't think it would be development. If it was, then region specific games would be ported instantly. I'm sure translation is part of the localizing process.

@Chaos
Not every game comes out in every language. Was that game available in every language? ALSO - Games could be purposely held back for it to be released in every language at the same time.

Is this effecting Australia as well?

Depends who's localising it, surely? Golden Sun will have been handled in-house by Nintendo, who have the resources and inclination to get it done quickly. Whilst Warner, Scribblenauts' publisher, are definitely a big company, Scribblenauts may be lower down their priorities list for localisation.

That said, it could be any number of things holding it back, he says he can't say until 2013 so maybe we'll find out then?
