I agree. YouTube works really well inside the browser. There's no reason to release an app that is not to the capabilities of the website inside the Wii U browser.
Well, if it uses the gamepad well then it's worth it. Also, can someone answer me if u can respond to messages in the Wii U browser? I can't even do that on my iPhone.

I heard that you cannot watch videos in the Wii U GamePad screen on the YouTube app. Therefore, people are recommending watching YouTube videos via the Internet Browser since you watch YouTube videos on the Wii U GamePad via the Internet Browser.

Yup!
The App sucks. It is a simple rushed port of the Wii app. Why did they think they could get away with that? ...
Well, I've used it a bit and it's pretty much similar to the Youtube App in the PS3. The only difference I found between using the App and viewing a video on the Internet Browser is that the app has slightly better quality to the videos, but I would rather use the browser to view videos more easily.
Advertisement purposes most likely. Even if it's garbage, being able to show off a youtube app in a commercial or mention it on a info sheet can attract a lot of gamers out of the loop.
@Swedish_Otakuyou cannot use the gamepad well in the app, it only shows the video's description, you cannot watch any video in the app on the gamepad itself, the browser allows gamepad only viewing.
the browser allows commenting and messaging, the app doesn't.
Browser>App
Youtube is better on the built in internet browser

It appears that they are removing any screenshots you take inside the YouTube app from Miiverse.
Understandable obviously.
I'm having issues with the new Wii U YouTube app. It wont load correctly and it's super glitchy. It has made my system freeze twice. :/

The YouTube app is pretty crap. The browser is much better.

To get more money quickly? That's the only reason so far that I can think so far.

Nope, not too impressed with the app. Will remove and continue to use the Wii-U browser for Tube vids as needed.

@LegendofZelda1996 only way they get money is through ads, using the app/downloading doesn't add to their wallets.
even so, the app still sucks.
