The following comment comes from Simon Strange at Sunstone...
I think you'll be better off just waiting for Kaiju Combat on the Wii-U. I'm already planning a "re-work" of the original G:U story - so you can have all that fun with a better underlying combat engine & production values.
I'm always down for some more monster combat, so let's hope this comes through! Thanks to GoldMetalSonic for the heads up!

ULTRAMAN!!! YES!!! BEST WORST LOW BUDGET GIANT ROBOT/MONSTER TV SERIES EVER!!!!!
Release it in July and they can call it a Pacific Rim tie in
Oh man! I was always a blind fanboy to the atari Godzilla trilogy, can't wait to see how this goes!
Good Lord...the potential to be had...
This needs to happen. Stay Puft Marshmallow man vs King Ghidora...
I will fund this. I want this to happen SO BADLY.
My dream match-up is Godzilla vs. Gamera vs. King Kong vs. Tornaq:
Here's Tornaq:

Hello all, I hail from the Kaiju Combat forum!
I own a copy of every Atari Godzilla game, Kaiju Combat is awesome, some of the monsters are insanely cool looking. I think we are long overdue for a monster game.
Godzilla VS. Gamera... in HD? On the Wii-U?
*_*
I wonder what would be displayed on the gamepad... Perhaps a map of the entire arena? The person holding it could say where power-ups are being dropped off or something. That'd be pretty hectic!
I know nothing about this game, but as a huge fan of kaiju, I want it. Does this actually have real (fake) monsters such as Gamera and Godzilla, because that would be epic. I am interested in the giant rooster from the picture though.
I am up for some Kaiju Kombat
The giant bird is called "Kikiron", you can read his bio here: https://kaijucombat.wiki.zoho.com/Kikiron.html
There's a bunch of other info on their wiki, including descriptions of the fan-submitted monsters... even random Godzilla: Unleashed monster stats! Wonder what that's all about...
Toho wants to see how well the game does before giving their Godzilla license. But that shouldn't be a problem, since the director of this game (Simon Strange) has been in contact with Toho for about 10 years! Simon's already gotten into talks with the owners of Gamera and Ultraman, too, and he speaks very highly of Cthulhu...
I hope Kaiju brings in the characters from Kaiju Big Battle! Kung Fu Chicken Noodle verses Godzilla would be a fun one to play.
