I don't know what's going on here, but for whatever reason, Square-Enix has opened up a new teaser site for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. Could this be to promote an eShop version of the game? Will there be a sequel? Is the game receiving a port to another platform?

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what's going to happen.
Don't tell me that. =(
Does anyone recognize that song (if it's a song) that it's playing? I just think that it's hinting something.
My guess is a port too, sadly. Seems everything DS related is hitting iOS, so 3DS can't be far off...
Yeah, knowing Square Enix it's probably just an iOS port.
i agree. it's gonna get ported to iOS
iOS ports make sense for rhythm games though. Not saying I like this practice, but it's better than porting Vice City or something. >_>
I'd love to see them make another Theatrhythm game, but with another series. Heck, I think Kingdom Hearts would be a nice fit for it! Even if there were only...
...How many games? 7?
Deal with it now rather than later.
@YF3
I'd like a Theatrhythm of Mana!
They love porting DS and 3ds games to ios. It would be nice to see some PSP games being ported to other places, lets say the 3ds...
Would love to see more DLC songs because I bought every single DLC song since I loved the game and music so much! The only flaw is that you cannot play the DLC songs in the music/jukebox player, you can only play the song via challenge mode which is a damn shame since all the songs that were already in the game can be played via music/jukebox player.
It's Theathrythm for iOS. Obvious teaser is obvious.
I don't even want to imagine how that handles. I hate complete touch screens and that's just for navigating through my phone menu's. Even then rhythm games definitely seem like a magical fit for touch screen only devices.
@NightsOwl
I don't even understand why someone would be upset by this.
Instead of wasting their time with a port they could be working on something new. If people want the game, get it for 3DS. There's no need to port it now of all times. x_x
I would like to see some kind of Theatrhythm Dragon Quest.
More $$$
I'm pretty sure it's Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for iOS/Android/whatever.
What you need to realize is companies usually use smaller studios to produce these ports, while main studios worry about sequels and such. So if there's a sequel in the works, don't worry, it's not being hindered by this port at all.
Also, this isn't a system seller game. If people wanted to play this, they wouldn't get the 3DS just for one game, so it makes sense to port it to iOS. The 3DS is enjoying good sales now, people can stop getting defensive about ports going to other platforms. This is how the industry works, and if more people can enjoy games, hey, awesome.
Here we go again with the Squeenix game that gets ported to iOS only to have people complain that it costs $20 and the flood of news article complaining that Squeenix's pricing model is broken...
iOS lolz
If Square Enix wants more money then why don't they port their ios/android games over to the 3DS and Playstation vita? This company does not have a digital presence on the Eshop or PSN for the PSP/Vita. They also have more of a digital presence on the ios than they have for the Wii/Wii U, Xbox 360, and the PS3.The only mobile phone ports that have hit consoles are The Crystal Defenders, Kingdom Hearts Coded, and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.
Ugh more ios BS. Great...
I think people are upset because this means Square Enix is going to put out the same exact game at the price of dollars on the app store. Plus, it shafts 3DS owners exclusivity.
$20 on eShop and iOS would be phenom. I'd pick it up for sure for 3DS.
