Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U rumors for the hopeful

We're all hoping that we get some new Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS info from E3 2013. While we wait for that to happen, a round of rumored tidbits has popped up. It looks like a lot of wishful thinking to me, but I'll let you be the judge of that. Read on at your own risk!

Rumored info here (thanks to all that sent this in)

Oh yes more fuel to the hype!

Even though I bet it's not true at all, it all sounds so believable.

Ridley and Dillon as playable characters? Characters from unreleased games getting added into the game this early in development?

Why do people keep believing these? It's nonsense.

If shulk is in there he'd be my character forever

Sora and Mega Man and this Smash will never be topped ever ever forever never.

And in regards to a Pushmo Park stage... http://gonintendo.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=76635

Are you guys seriously reposting this bogus rumor here too? I thought you guys would have more sense than zeldainformer but I guess I was wrong.

Just put Mach Rider in. Did someone seriously give him a redesign in Melee only for him to become a sticker in Brawl (not even a trophy) and not to be included in anything ever again (not that they have to use that design)? The character's grittiness would add another extra dimension to SSB (Snake doesn't count) and he would just be a cool addition overall to the game. I seriously think there is a lot of potential in this guy. Mach Rider revival via new SSB, makes sense!

And Takamaru is fine, but he's honestly just a samurai (not that he shouldn't be in as well, because there isn't really any samurai like characters) and do we really need more sword wielders? At least someone like Hector from Fire Emblem would bring some diversity (an axe) to the nothing but sword wielding characters (yes, Dedede and Ice Climbers use hammers, Samus uses a whip, etc but for the most part if they have a weapon they'll have a sword).

And bring Mewtwo back. Lucario was just about my favourite character in Brawl (I still can't believe how much they ruined Cap Falcon in SSBB...) but I would much rather they have Mewtwo in the game (if not both of them, there's really no reason why the two can't both be in the game, along with other Pokemon as well).

Shulk, Ghirahim, and DILLON, YES!!!!

The rumor said it's not official if they'll be in or not but I'm glad its in consideration.

I'm so glad Dillon is recognize, he an awesome character that really need his own series, he have so much potential.

Now I only hope Dark Pit, and Lady Palatina get spot, and Keldeo, but that may be a unlikely. Hope this rumor have some reliability to it.

Unreleased? Dillon's Rolling Western and Metroid Other M were retail titles. What do you mean by that?

I was referring to the supposed new character from the unannounced Yoshi Land and characters from The Wonderful 101.

Once again, a rumor I'll take with a grain of salt until I see official word. If true, then this is pretty cool info.

that's not a leak !
let me try
-smash bros to feature a power stone 2 AND 1 mode
- the sub sub space emissary mode feature a racing mode in hyrule
- evil boss kongs from jungle beat to make a return

This just screams fake. I mean, The Wonderful 101 characters? Really? And Giant Chasm? It doesn't even have something uncommon (except for Kyurem, of course) to become a Smash stage.

Oh ok, well whatever this Yoshi game going to be, sounds like its going to be a big project from Nintendo and the only other Yoshi character I can think of is .....Boshi. Rumors have been right and wrong, its always best to take these with a gran of salt, but at this moment, I'm almost convince that this Yoshi Land game is real. I'm hearing almost everywhere, even Best Buy. As long its not like Yoshi Island, I wasn't a fan of Baby Mario.

Like all rumors, take them with a grain of salt. Rumors have been right and they been wrong.

Here's to hoping that at least half that nonsense isn't remotely true. Cheers.

Doesn't sound believable to me.

From the Nintendo Direct part of it (lets be honest with ourselves, the game can not be very far in development), to character choices like Ghirahm. It just is not even remotely believable.

K Rool and Ridley, as well as some of the stages seem plausible.

The rest of it? Not so much.

Quick thoughts:

Little Mac - No
Takamaru - Yes
K Rool BETTER be playable this time - or heads will roll...
Ridley - Yes
Shulk and Ghirahim would be sweet. Indifferent to Dillion.
TW101 is an obvious rep over Bayonetta [even with the sequel exclusive on it's way]
If a new Yoshi rep, let it be KAMEK!
Nice stage ideas.

I don't think they'll unveil SSB4 [which I personally think is further along than we all think] before E3 next year, though.

No chance of it being real, but I wouldn't complain if it was. Well, correction: I wouldn't complain TOO much, as there is one thing... "Ridley will be playable, featuring his “evolution” from Other M."

Gyek.

So that will be K.Rool's second redesign? So Retro is redesigning the character supposedly yet couldn't put him in DKCR? lol yeah right? This rumor just screams of bogus! Though I REALLY want K.Rool to return and be playable.

Saw this a day or so ago when it got posted up over at GameFAQ's, and anyone can make broad, sweeping assumptions like that. It's a bit like going over to a country like England in the spring and saying, 'Tomorrow it's going to be cloudy and it's probably going to rain.'. Well, yeah, 'cause England's known to be cloudy and rainy. The same deal holds true here with these 'assumptions'/'reveals'.

Little Mac: Punch-Out!! on the Wii sold well, so I'd imagine another is on its way at some point in the next few years. Similarly, Sakurai teases that Assist Trophies (Little Mac appears as one) in Brawl were characters that almost make the cut.

Assist Trophies allow you to enjoy even more characters who couldn’t quite make it as playable fighters.

By that logic, Isaac, Jeff, Lyn, Ray MK III, Saki, Starfy, Shadow and Waluigi would have also been considered for characters, but some are more.. likelier than others. Because of Little Mac's recent revival (and possible sequel) I'd imagine that Little Mac being in is a pretty safe assumption, as he's still a popular character.

Takamaru: People have been clamoring for Takamaru for quite some time over in Japan, and his recent revival in Nintendo Land (however small) probably renewed interest in his character. A fairly safe assumption as well in comparison to Little Mac, but perhaps not as solid.

K. Rool: I'd honestly be surprised if K. Rool doesn't get in, not especially if another Donkey Kong Country is in the works with K. Rool as a central protagonist. Having Retro give the character a redesign might be a bit iffy, but would also prove that Retro's working on another DKC. Another character that people have been chomping at the bit for, and understandably so.

Ridley: I'd enjoy seeing Ridley in the game, if only so people would shut up. I felt he was more fitting as a boss battle - heck, he got two of them in SSE. But hey, if they can make this highly requested character work and make him feel genuine, I don't see why not. Wouldn't it be funny if that old Retro (3DS) vs. Modern (Wii U) rumor came to pass and it turned out they just made his NES sprite a playable character? Man, I'd laugh something fierce.

Shulk/Ghirahim: I'd enjoy seeing Shulk (and he's a likely contender), but as for G-him, I don't honestly see a reason to inundate the Zelda roster unless they trim out Young/Toon Link. As far as personal preference goes, I'd rather see Vaati myself, but I hear a lot of people would love to see Ghirahim both here in the states and Japan, so.. why not?

TW101: I agree with Chosenoneknuckles, that this is the more logical representative to get in. Bayonetta won't need the sales help: people will buy it by name alone. TW101, however, is a new IP and is probably going to need the push.

New Yoshi Rep: Also agree with Chose on this one, I'd enjoy seeing Kamek (and there seems to be some demand on both sides of the ocean), but having a new rep for the rumored Yoshi Land would also be logical. I don't think they really need to 'cause it's going to sell just by name and if it's a good game.

New 'Young Link': I'd love to see this idea done, myself. In fact, I presented this idea ages ago (as I'm sure a billion other people have before and after me), and it would certainly be good PR for a Majora's Mask remake.

As far as stages go, I really don't care what stages they put in as long as they're cool.
