What better way to sell your device than by showing off all the illegal games it can play? The S7300 “SMART Console” certainly looks like a GamePad, but it has nothing to do with Nintendo officially. That's why it's disconcerting to see the device advertised with Nintendo games, just like above. I can't imagine Nintendo being too happy with this.

It also has a cross d-pad, which nintendo owns the patent. Not going to lie, I'd buy one if it was affordable
Why would they advertise it playing SMG2??? *sigh* some people
Yeah, there is no wii emulator. So it can't play that game. They are breaking so many laws in just one picture.
I think the dpad patent expired in 2005. It's also not about the "shape" of the dpad, but the mechanism inside it (see Dreamcast).
I also doubt this "thing" as the "fastest speed" emulators, as accurate emulators like bsnes usually need a pretty powerful PC to run properly.
I thought that was Dolphin.
Who cares, though? This can play your Wii games in 3D! Nintendo's got competition.
Is it wrong for a company to be inspired by Nintendo?
The only Wii emulator that I know of is Dolphin. That's the program people are using to produce high res 1080p pics of Wii games.
Nintendo should sue the pants off of 'em, is possible.
As far as I've read emulators aren't illegal, it's the ROMs that could get you in trouble, but the makers leave that part up to you. You could in theory run homebrew ROMs on it and no law would be broken.
As for the device itself, it looks bad ass. dual core 1.5ghz, 1GB RAM, Android 4.1, 7 inch 5 point multitouch display at 600p, button mapping for android games (use a physical button rather then an on screen virtual button), flash 11 and html 5 & HDMI out. This thing is likely to hit the streets at around $150, I'd like one. The same company also has other devices that resemble the Vita and PSP, but I think this one looks the nicest.
Dolphin emulates wii just so you know.
Does this Nintendo piracy stuff ever stop?
I'm pretty sure he meant there is no Wii emulator for that device.
No, no piracy stuff ever stops. It's a mater of providing an alternative that is legal and beneficial to the end user. People thought digital sales of music would never work because it's so easy to steal music online, but Apple has become the worlds largest music company in the aftermath of Napster with a 100% online business model.
If Nintendo themselves provided a more complete library of games, sold them at a more fair price, and didn't tie them to a single device then many people would go the legal route, as it is only a very small niche market of Nintendo diehards buy officially released digital classic Nintendo games. Nintendo needs to be more aggressive in securing publishing rights to classic abandoned software and courting "out of business" ip owners to get their games republished. They need to invest in the library if they want people to invest in supporting it.
Advertising it to run Nintendo games is the illegal part, that and I'm pretty sure could get them for stealing the "look and feel" of the wiiU gamepad much like apple got Samsung.
Honestly if it wasn't such a blatant ripoff and such a strong possibility to be pulled from the market I would get it, the only thing android is missing is buttons like this to be a legitimate gaming platform.
So they're advertising pirated games from god knows how many developers and console makers (with the mention of NES/SNES/Nintendo 64/GBA/PS1/PS2/Neo Geo and maybe Mega Drive games, that's a lot of game developers and publishers to annoy), using blatantly false advertising and stealing the design from another system. That's got to be at least five broken laws in one picture.
Well to be fair, in the Vita inspired product page they show Battlefield art work on it's screen. As far as I know no Battlefield game is on Android. It's the very same thing, using art for possible future games to sell the system, how is that different then what Nintendo did at E3 2011? Maybe these guys hope to get an official port of SMG2, just like Nintendo hoped to get an official port of Battlefield.
@chris_the_wing
official port of SMG2? over Iwatas dead body they'd get that
@M1
no but it is wrong for a company to feed off of nintendos success with little to no originality.
"...Chinese company..."
Why the hell am I even surprised?
So what does that make Sony?
Guys, I mean there is no android wii emulator. The closest thing there is is a DS and PSP emulator, but they don't work too well. I know about dolphin
I know, but it's also not emulatable on this system since there is no Wii emulator for it. I was just pointing out that marketing systems with misleading and false games is something even Nintendo themselves do.
Yes, yes this machine is a bit shady, but the PSP & Wii can emulate other systems quite easy, they just don't advertise the ability.
a bunch of shameless bastards who will get what's coming to them
Isn't that a bit harsh.
Sony claims they invented/innovate all their products and the competition copied them.
so they're a bunch of shameless frauds? that's not much better you know
they claimed the ps move was in production before the wii was even announced yet they called the wii remote a lollipop (ironic much?)
Did anyone else happen to notice the buttons on the right side? They even went so far as to copy the "yxba" button LABELS that Nintendo uses. lol... Yeah, they are going to get sued all to hell over this one.
