I have to agree with this guy. I'd rather you not blatantly advertise your channel and beg for subscriptions. If you may notice, one of the rules for posting is "Don't spam. This includes links to your own site(s)".
This Christmas present was more than what I deserved. The hate seems to border on jealousy, and unless this is your first time watching a youtube video you guys are stupid as this happens all the time. He's a good producer and he has every right to ask that you subscribe on his own video.

Oh yes, that's totally it. I'm completely jealous of a guy singing the theme to Sailor Moon. Just because other people do it doesn't make it right. If people want to subscribe, they will do it without the person begging for them. The person will get subscriptions based on their merit, not on how much they ask. Just because the guy is doing something Nintendo related doesn't give him any right to go against the rules and advertise his Youtube channel here. Oh, but that obviously isn't what I'm mad about. I must just be "stupid" and "jealous" of this guy.

From the way I understand it, people were making negative comments and so to lighten the mood, he decides to tell you to subscribe to him instead as a joke.
There's nothing wrong when they've earned that right through their dedication of providing a slew of well made videos. You and many others make it seem as if he's demanding you wire him money. Why does it boarder on jealousy in my mind? Because the hate is too overblown and it's stupid to be repeatedly offended by something as harmful as this. This isn't spam and nor is his earlier statement when it's relevant to the topic, especially when he's the subject. He put himself out there with singing a feminine song from a predominately female animated show in japanese and it took courage to do so, I commend him for that and hopes he Sings Cha la Head Cha la if possible.
