A deserving winner
Pfff, not even a Nintendo game..
I second that! Though I haven't played all of those on this list, Journey was just something different and truly amazing. I could get a PS3 for that game alone damn it!

I hope there is some sarcasm going on in this topic. This wasn't a particularly strong year for Nintendo, if you ask me.
The 3DS got some good ones. One of the games was on the list. Wii got... Last Story. That should have been mentioned. Pandora's Tower didn't the states?
Journey was a really deserving winner, definitely.

I was thinking the same thing, thinking back to an era when Nintendo used to make contenders for Game of the Year. They just don't do that anymore.
Yay Journey won, love it when an original game like this gets some recognition. Such a beautiful game, it stood head and shoulders above everything else this year.

I like Journey, but it didn't deserve to win GOTY. I'd be happier if Borderlands 2, or XCOM, or Xenoblade won.
Journey looks beautiful, and why shouldn't this GoTY video be covered just because Nintendo didn't have a strong year. I have to say that Nintendo's "safe" software releases won't get them many nominations for GoTY.
Why the likes of Pandora Tower and other games weren't on this list, I do not know but Journey "feels" right and I haven't even played it.
I would personally have had Kid Icarus: Uprising as the GOTY.
Journey totally deserves it. Marvelous game.
Nintendo doesn't deserve much recognition for this year unless it's a most disappointing list.
Journey is more like the worst and dumbest game released this year. Such a stupidly pointless game, and it just uses ART to disguise it's crappy, nonexistant gameplay and shallowness. Seriously, all you do is walk around in a featureless desert with a crappy camera.
What is this business about Nintendo not having a good year? Nintendo's been having a bad 16 years according to popular media.
Pretty much. No matter what they do they're looked down on with derision. I mean, anyone who actually believes that Wii Sports wasn't GOTY when it came out simply isn't a fan of gaming.
Apparently that's the vast bulk of the gaming media.
Such a depressing state of affairs.
