Ok something isn't quite right about this info graphic either I'm reading it completely wrong or it's saying that every year to 2012 that arcade machines have been consistently more popular then every system ever made, even in the years where arcades are nonexistent.
@bomblord If you look by each year, the width of each genre determines its popularity. For example, in year 2010 and up, Puzzle and Action were the most popular.
In the second infograph, 2010+, Windows, and the iOS platforms were the most popular.
it seems that RPG's, while never garnering a huge market share, have remained incredibly stable. And with the e-shop, publishing risk and expense can now be completely eliminated. So why is it that so many big RPG's (such as the recent DQ games and Fantasy Life for 3DS) aren't getting localized?
