We never saw Bonk: Brink of Extinction hit any platforms it was intended for. It never saw release anywhere, for that matter. Unfortunately, the game was cancelled when it was pretty much complete. Even worse, Pi Studios, the developer behind the game, was shuttered not that long after.

That's really disappointing.
Ouch, that burns.
Reminds me of that Battlefront 3 controversy. It seems to me that an "essentially complete" game that goes unreleased either means it was pretty far from "actually complete" or wasn't a very good game.
I never liked the Bonk series, but even I wanted to see it get a new sequel. Oh well. There are actually quite a few of them, although some were only released in Japan of course. But to be honest, unlike its rival Mario(and even Sonic to a point), it really didn't change all that much over the years and kind of got lost in all the other platformers...
That's a fitting title given the situation.
Damn you to Hell Konami.
THANKS KONAMI
no, it appeared to be pretty good. It's just that Konami's first action after absorbing Hudson was cancelling ALL games they were producing (including upcoming VC releases).
Nnnoo!!!! Stop rubbing salt in the wounds! T_T
Bonk is one of my favorite series! T_T I have all the games on the Wii VC... I was waiting that game eagerly.
So... it went way past the brink of extinction and went completely extinct... T_T
I'm surprised no one mentioned the awkward cancellation of Star Fox 2 and how it was full complete. But, I think they needed a crack team of localizators and a crap-ton of money so they funded for Starfox 64. I think both could've released
Oh really? That seems rather wasteful.
It looked really atrocious to be honest, even worse than the Adventure Island game. So cheap and tacky. Not many sidescrolling games look good with 3D models, some like DKCR get it right but others just look off.
This saddens me, but it also saddens me more because it reminds me of Bomberman 3DS
R.I.P. Hudson. I still miss you.
