Coming from the press release...
Madden NFL 25 will be available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system for $59.99.
No Madden on Wii U, Wii, 3DS? Not something that personally upsets me, but I know there are plenty of you that are irked by this, and rightfully so. What's the big deal here, EA?

lol I agree!
EA are acting like spoilt brats that didn't get their way
Ironically Nintendo just put Madden 13 pic on their Facebook header.
I can't see NCAA 14 coming to the Wii U when NCAA 13 didn't.
Besides, Madden 14 not coming to the Wii U is really not a good sign. They tend to release Madden for more consoles than they do NCAA. So if Madden isn't there, NCAA surely won't be either.
I was so foolish in believing that the Wii U could make up for the fact that I didn't have a HD console last generation. I feel like now I have to have a PS3 AND a Wii U.
That... seems extremely childish, if paired with recent EA comments. Hopefully they are just holding onto their announcement of a Wii U version because it won't be ready to launch same day as the other two versions (gamepad integration and that jazz).
Seems a bit presumptuous, considering real world facts at the moment...
That was a great game, I still play it every now and then.
Meh, I could care less about EA (read: Egomaniac A$$e$) and their rehash sport franchise, but the fact that a lot of developers would see this as a reason/excuse for not making Wii U games is rather depressing and alarming.
Though I don't care personally, I know that there is a dedicated sports fanbase, that if they dont see ______ on a Platform, then why bother anyway?
Poor THQ...EA still survives yet you don't.
A lot of developers already are skipping out on the Wii U.
Did EA officially say no WiiU version? If not I would wait before jumping off the bridge.
Don't worry it will come. Just don't expect it to be on par with the other versions feature-wise.
And them calling it Madden 25 now is kinda wierd. What are they going to call it when the 2024-2025 season comes around.
Madden '25? By then this game will be totally forgotten so it's not a big deal.
EA is not above naming their games the same thing. Look at The Sims 3. It has two Expansion Packs that are named identically to their The Sims 2 counterparts - Pets and Seasons. EA doesn't care. They know that the fanbase doesn't care either.
Sport titles, especially for the WiiU are essential for it to become
a lead console. The reason why, WiiU's tablet controller is more important
than visual fidelity in playing sport titles. EA can marginalize the WiiU
but withholding sports titles. Or make WiiU the go to console for its sports titles.
This would make WiiU very relevant for core audiences in the US where its having problems.
Madden and the gamepad are made for each other.
Its like Lucasarts not making a proper lightsaber title for the Wii.
I wonder if EA is pressuring other companies into not releasing games for Wii U.
Waaaaah, poor baby EA. Nintendo didn't let you take over their online service?
As if I didn't like EA already, they are acting like complete b*tches. I didn't even think my opinion of them could get any lower, but they went and done it. I'm sure Microsoft or Sony wouldn't allow them to do that either. Nintendo should just make their own Sports games that are better like SEGA did.
i feel the exact same way! the only ea game i wanted on wii u was some ncaa football. so much for that dream....
can you list them? confirmed skippers, can you give us a list of them?
Is this Madden '14 they just named it differently?
EA is making no sense to me if this doesn't come to Wii U...ME3 was a crap port after the trilogy for PS3 was announced. Then they announce Need For Speed coming to the system. And then Madden 25 and no Wii U announcement.
Unless Nintendo is doing a third party Nintendo Direct here shortly and want to announce a bunch of things there?
Or worse case scenario: EA got fairly butthurt from whatever deal Nintendo and them had that didn't wind up going through with Origin. They thought it was going through and had a bunch of games already in development, but anything that wasn't far enough along was immediately cancelled. They are now only releasing games that were far in development for the system, and everything else skips it.
...or my bigger fear that EA is launching their own system and aren't supporting any new system.
Holy crap... Madden NFL 25?!?!? Why can't they just make a really good version and improve it yearly with DLC until they make a version with enough huge improvements to make it a brand new entry? This cow has been milked to the bone marrow.
That said, I'm almost waiting for some THQ-like event to happen to EA to see how they react... almost.
I was a bit confused by the "25" because I thought that corresponded to the year. I assumed it was a typo until I looked it up.
I've never bought a Madden game before and I never plan to, so I don't really care either way. Although, it stinks for those Wii U/ Wii owners who don't have a PS3/ 360. :/
It wouldn't work that way. I mean, imagine you are Activision (or WBi or Ubisoft- although Ubisoft is probably Nintendo's biggest western ally), and then EA tells you that they aren't going to release games for the Wii U. You don't suddenly go "Oh, if EA says I shouldn't, I shouldn't", you go "Hang on a second, did EA just tell me they are ignoring 3 to 4 million possible customers?"
but in reality those 3-4 million people... don't buy many 3rd party games.
It's happened before.
When Squaresoft left Nintendo for Sony they went around to different developers/publishers and "talked" them into cancelling their games for the N64 and porting them to the PS1 at Sony's behest. That's the main reason DQVII ended up on the PS1 and not the N64.
If Squaresoft could do it after being so close with them for so long, anyone could.
Would be very stupid if it didn't happen. All support is welcome since there are people who actually like the MAdden games. And there are people like me who don't care, but that's not the point. The point is the millions of peple who would have bought the game!
