A note on the Super Mario Bros. 2 50% off deal
As most of you already know, Nintendo was offering a deal on Super Mario Bros. 2 for those that purchased Super Mario World on the Wii U VC. If you had Super Mario World in your collection, you could grab Super Mario Bros. 2 for 50% off. Reader Alan writes in to tell us that if you transferred the Wii VC version of Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario World over to your Wii U, you are not eligible for the 50% off. You'll have to go full-price or live with what you have!
Further clarification...
If you already have the Wii VC version of Super Mario Bros. 2 transferred to your Wii U you are only eligible for the $1.00 Wii U VC upgrade discount price. In other words you cannot get the 50% off discount on top of the Wii U VC upgrade discount even if you buy or have already bought the Wii U version of Super Mario World.
