as for taking walks, it really helps!
I walked for 30 min a day (not casually but not power walking either) while listening to podcasts (including yours!) and within 20 days I had lost almost 15 pounds! I was seeing diminishing returns start to form, but it's a great way to get motivated and get started! (I also used the wii fit board to weigh myself every day at the same time so I could track my daily progress!)
