Taking 3d to a portable...smart move?

Nintendo is going to bring 3d to portable gaming once again with the Nintendo 3ds. I can’t even believe I’m talking about this as fact! The announcement came out of nowhere, and now talk is all over the internet. This is a hugely bold move for Nintendo, considering just how poorly their last portable foray into 3d went. Is this second approach going to be the instance where Nintendo nails it?
