Igarashi talks DS, Wii

Koji Igarashi (Castlevania) sat down with Game Informer to discuss everyone’s favorite vampire franchise. I will list some bullet points from the video interview.

The Rondo of Blood remake for the PSP could have been done for the DS, but it would have (most likely) only contained the original version of the game, instead of the 2.5 d remake, as well as Symphony of the Night.

Iga believes that the title needed to have the graphical upgrade to entice new gamers, instead of just going after hard-core Castlevania fans.

Iga hopes that Nintendo will wait a bit to discuss more classic Castlevania games for the Virtual Console simply because he wants to see the PC-Engine versions of the games made available, rather than the original NES versions.

A Castlevania game for the Wii was never a problem, and is certainly a possibility. Iga strongly believes that the whip and the Wiimote do not go together. He also belives that the Wii is a great console, and himself and his team needs to find out what works in gameplay that won’t tire you after a couple hours.
