Animal Crossing 3DS lets you play the role of Mayor

Reader Wiiaredeep was checking out a PDF that Nintendo put out during E3 2010, and he stumbled on some information that I didn’t know about Animal Crossing 3DS. I may have missed this bit since I was running around the show floor, but I don’t think I’ve heard anyone else talking about it.

• In Animal Crossing, players move out on their own to live a life of ease in a village of walking, talking animals. But this time around, unexpected circumstances suddenly put the player in the role of Mayor in a town they’ve only just arrived in. With the help of the many unique townsfolk and one eager secretary, players will enjoy making their new town a better place for all to live in.

That actually sounds like a big change to me! There could obviously be a lot of different gameplay mechanics involved with that situation. Man, now I’m really hyped for this game!
