I bought Ufouria: THE SAGA on the Virtual Console today. I was dying for the title, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on a digital copy. A chance to play a game never released in the states, and it happens to be in English as well? Man, where do I sign up!
I just wanted to point a little something out to all of you that plan on picking up the game. You’ll be getting the PAL version of the title, but playing it on your NTSC Wii. This means the game will be slightly sped-up, and the music won’t play correctly. The gameplay speed is not an issue at all. I think the game plays perfectly fine. The music…that’s a tad disappointing. The game has a great soundtrack, but the sped-up nature of this VC release kind of ruins it.
If you can forgive the music issues, you should definitely check this game out. While I’m still upset about the tunes, I definitely love the game itself. It’s like a Metroidvania title before the term Metroidvania existed!
