SEGA reports financial results - Sonic Colors sells nearly 2 million, profit up

SEGA Sammy Holdings’ financial results for the nine months ending December 31, 2010…

- sales rise by 8.7 per cent to ¥310 billion ($3.8 billion)
- profit up by 118.2 per cent to ¥63.0 billion ($772 million)
- videogame publishing arm bringing in ¥67.4 billion ($826 million) in revenues and ¥2.8 billion ($34.3 million) profit
- “In the overseas markets, sales of the new titles remained slow as affected by the adverse market condition, although sales remained solid in the Japanese market.”
- almost 6 million game units were sold in Europe
- 5.8 million in the US
- 1.9 million in Japan and other regions
- 13.6 million in total
- forecasting overall revenues of ¥410 billion ($5.0 billion)
- forecasting ¥37.5 billion ($460 million) in net income
- Sonic Colors (Wii/DS) 1,850,000
- Xbox 360 accounted for 1.48 million units across 11 SKUs
- PSP accounted for 1.44 million units across 11 SKUs
- Wii accounted for 1.42 million units across 9 SKUs
- DS accounted for 1.34 million units across 9 SKUs
- PS3 accounted for 1.13 million units across 7 SKUs
