This was a huge deal back in the day. Mortal Kombat was without a doubt, the most violent series that had seen mega success with the mainstream gamer. That little red splurt was enough to convince gamers that they needed to purchase the Genesis version of Mortal Kombat, due to the lack of blood in the Super Nintendo outing. Little did we know just how much this game would mean to the future of the video game industry.
