Dev says exclusives give hardware their identity

GN Version 3.1

“Exclusives are what give the hardware their identity. It’s the brands, right? Ultimately hardware is important, but the hardware developers and the brands - PlayStation, or the other ones - are really defined by the exclusive titles. Without that, everything would be lost in a sea of… being generic, if you will. I also think that multi-platform games sometimes have to make sacrifices to work for either platform, whereas we have the advantage of knowing the target hardware we’re making the game for. In the end result, you get better quality by making it specifically for one piece of hardware.” - Zipper Interactive lead designer Travis Steiner

That’s why it’s so much fun being a Nintendo fan. We know that Mario and the gang will never show up on another platform, so long as Nintendo exists!
