Weekend is creeping up on us quite quickly, and I see nothing wrong with that! I’m ready to get Friday out of the way for some rest and relaxation! Let’s push through our chores/work/school for Friday and get to the fun stuff, shall we? It all starts with a good night’s rest, and I’m ready for that! See you in a few, short hours.

Ever pick up and play a game, only to stop playing for a random reason? You keep saying to yourself that you’re going to get back into that title, but multiple reasons pop up, and you just never get back to it. It’ll go from a few days away from the game to a few weeks, and then before you know it it’s been over a year since you’ve played. That damn thing called ‘life’ likes to get in the way of your fun sometimes, and that means games can be put on the back burner.

I’m really guilty of this, as I have a handful of games that I was making my way through only to shelve them for ridiculous amounts of time. I still have a game of Mass Effect 2 to get back into. The more time that passes, the less I remember about where I was and what I was doing. That just makes it that much harder to pick the game back up. I know that when I do I’ll have a ton of fun, but now I’ve built up a mental barrier about picking up where I left off.

Tonight Lube and I are putting some time into a game that we haven’t played in years. Believe it or not, it’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We used to play the original and Melee for hours upon hours. I can’t even tell you how much time we put into this series. It’s definitely more than any other game out there, and it never seems to get boring. The only problem is, we were playing the original Smash Bros. and Melee when we only had to worry about school. If we had jobs, they were just part-time gigs for some extra spending cash. Nothing to take away from the bulk of our free time, which was eaten up by Smash Bros.

When Brawl came out, we were all moving along with our real jobs. That makes it quite tough to get together like we used to to play. It used to be me, Lube and JTS gaming the hours away. Now we’re lucky if we can get an hour to play, but Lube and I are changing that tonight. Jumping back into the game has been an absolutely blast, and since it’s been so long, it’s almost like playing a new game! I’m certainly out of practice, that’s for sure!

What old game are you looking to get back into? It’s nagging at the back of your mind, I’m sure. It’s time to come clean and let us know what those games are! Maybe sharing your dirty secret with all of us will help you pop the game in this weekend!
