morgan webbBen from over at N-Philes was nice enough to shoot me an email filling me in on an interview they had recently conducted with Morgan Webb (X-Play). You can find some excerpts from the interview below, and then click through to read the rest. Huge thanks to Ben for the heads up.

N-P: After Nintendo unveiled Wii’s controller at TGS last year, you and X-Play co-host Adam Sessler spoke positively about it. Have you had a chance to try it out? What do you think about the Wii-mote?

MW
: I think “Wii-mote” is really stupid. Can you imagine two frat guys sitting around saying, “Hey dude, will you pass me the wii-mote?” It’s not going to happen. I still think that the mechanism is very interesting. I haven’t had a chance to play it - of course we’ll get to do that at E3. I think the idea behind it is still a good one… it’s just, that name is going to take it down a peg, but I’m still excited about a new way to interface with games.

N-P: Moving more to E3, what games are you interested in seeing, or hoping to play on the show floor?

MW: Well, right now, we don’t know exactly which games are necessarily going to be playable on the show floor. I’m definitely interested in seeing… at this point, I’m kinda more interested in seeing the games that are kinda coming out for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 more than a game that isn’t necessarily going to be playable. Of course I’m going to get on the floor and play a lot of the games. I’m a dork, and I’m kinda looking forward to Command & Conquer 3, and I am interested in Assassin’s Creed from Ubisoft. It looks interesting. We’ve only seen the trailer, but for some reason I’m really excited about it. Probably because Ubisoft does a really good job with their games as a general rule. Of course there’s a new Battlefield, which I’m kinda excited about, and Crisis, which is built on the Far Cry engine, which is very interesting. It’s a shooter, but it’s beautiful, it’s absolutely beautiful, which is exciting. I’m a dork, but I also like, you know this game for the DS, it’s called [oops!-ed]. It’s the US version of [bad Morgan Webb! bad!]. I like that Nintendo is taking chances on some of these interesting games and translating it for the American audience.

(The edited section above apparently deals with a US version of Ossu! Tatakae! Ouendan! which will be named Elite Agent Force. While this isn’t 100% confirmed by Nintendo, it is a pretty safe bet.)
