Mercury is one of the 8 games I own for my PSP. It also happens to be one of my favorites. Think of it as the thinking man’s Monkey Ball. You rotate a table to direct a blob of mercury around the play area to eventually reach a goal. The game is littered with puzzles, ranging from changing the color of your blob to unlock doors, to splitting your mercury blob into seperate blobs, and then controlling both blobs at once.

A European release list has popped up from Ignition Entertainment, from where we do not know. It appears that the company plans to bring the once Sony exclusive title to the Wii. Check out the list below.

Metal Slug Antology (PSP) - November
Metal Slug Anthology (Wii) - November
Mercury Meltdown (PS2) - November
Mercury Meltdown (Wii) - November
Mercury Meltdown Remix (PS2) - Q4 2006
Mercury Type R (Wii) - Q4 2006
KoFMI 2.5 (XBOX 360) - Q4 2006

Besides Metal Slug Anthology, Ignition plans to bring not one, but two types of Mercury games to the Wii. The game would make perfect sense for the Wii, the controller lending itself perfectly to the gameplay, and the game having a very non graphically intensive presentation. Although this has not been confirmed, we should be hearing something very soon. Thanks to iBy for the heads up!
