“The Holocaust is serious for all humanity and I don’t think anyone should make this kind of game. I’m very upset by it. This is not educational. Holocaust education should not be done through games of this nature. People can read and watch things about the Holocaust, they do not need these kinds of games.” - Jack Kagan, Holocaust survivor

I understand that Mr. Kagan is upset, and I know that he doesn’t want the Holocaust trivialized. On the other hand, Mr. Bernard is making a game that’s purpose is to educate children on the Holocaust. It’s using an extremely popular medium to teach children about something very important. I believe Mr. Kagan is thinking of the term ‘video game’ in a very narrow sense. It’s sad really…both people here, Mr. Kagan and Mr. Bernard, both feel strongly about the Holocaust…they just have different opinions on how people should learn about the events.
