Today is, without a doubt, one of the saddest days in my life. I am pretty sure that I’m in shock. Whenever I am alone, I lose it completely. When others are around, I can function normally. This morning at 6:00 AM EST, Buddy the Podcast Dog had to be put to sleep.

He had been suffering all weekend, and at 4:45 AM EST this morning, we received a call from the animal hospital. Buddy had taken a turn for the worst, and the vet didn’t know how much longer he would be around for. I hopped in a car 4 minutes later, picked up Mom Brain, and we made our way to see Buddy. Needless to say, he wasn’t in the best of shape. I had a feeling that today would be the last day I ever saw him…but I didn’t want to believe it.

I couldn’t stand to see Buddy suffer. He was hanging in their during Sunday, but today was all downhill. Basically, there was nothing that could be done for him. We went to the animal hospital, pet and kissed him all we could, and then I had the unpleasant job of signing away Buddy’s life. I snuggled him up with my Nintendo sweatshirt, and the shot was given. From here, Buddy and the sweatshirt (his favorite to sleep on) will be combined into an urn full of ashes.

Thank you to each and every one of you for everything you did to help Buddy. Emails, prayers, well-wishes, and everything else. I truly appreciate the support, and I know that Buddy did as well.

Goodbye Buddy…I will always love you, and never…ever forget you.
