Yet another prediction of the PS3 becoming the number one console on the market, albeit by 2011. This time we hear from Yuta Sakurai, an analyst at Nomura Securities in Tokyo, who makes a wager that the PS3 will have sold 71 million units compared to the Wii’s 40 million. Sakurai did have something nice to say about the Wii though…

“Software developers are increasingly interested in creating games for these Nintendo platforms.”

And then he drove his point home again…

“Hardcore gamers will probably prefer the raw power of PS3. And for all the positive vibes right now, the Wii isn’t expected to outsell the PS3.”

I personally wish all the next-gen entries good luck once everyone has their new system on the streets. It would be great to see a very healthy gaming market. How do you guys feel about what Mr. Sakurai has to say?
