Dear Reader:
Third parties don't like Wii pack-in game
“From a third-party standpoint, we’d prefer to have a platform without a bundle. There’s a vote for ‘no bundle’ from every third party we’ve talked to.” - Scott Steinberg, vice president of marketing, Sega
“(Bundling a game) obviously takes away sales, because people have one more game to play. But it helps (Nintendo) reinforce their ability to launch successfully. - Laurent Detoc, president of the North American division of Ubisoft
“We’re not concerned at all. We think (Nintendo’s) sports stuff looks really great and fun.” - EA Spokesperson
From what you guys are saying, I don’t think third parties will have to worry about you picking up a Wii without any other software purchases. Do you guys think that these companies have a valid point?
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
