Activision - sales breakdown (Wii is Activision's biggest console cash-cow)
We’ve posted absolutely everything we could abouto Activision’s earnings…or so I thought. This breakdown of what revenue comes from where is pretty interesting. I think you’ll be surprised with the results.
Total revenue breakdown
- MMOG (massively multiplayer online games) = 42%
- consoles = 42%
- handhelds = 12%
- PC = 4%
Console breakdown
- Nintendo Wii = 13%
- Microsoft Xbox 360 = 11%
- Sony PlayStation 2 = 9%
- Sony PlayStation 3 = 9%
Handheld breakdown
Nintendo DS = 10%
PSP = 2%
I would have never guessed that the Wii would pull in more revenue for Activision than the 360 or PS3.
