Wii Speak Channel only available to those with a 'Wii Download Ticket Number'

If you plan to purchase a used Wii Speak mic, this might make you think again. It looks like you only get to download the Wii Speak Channel through the use of a code included with the mic. If someone else has already registered their number and downloaded the Channel, you are screwed.

There is a pamphlet packaged with the peripheral that includes a 16-character code, a “Wii Download Ticket Number,” to be used for downloading the Wii Speak Channel. According to the pamphlet, this code “cannot be replaced by Nintendo or your retailer if it is lost or stolen.”

So…buying used means that you have a very good chance of missing out on that number, and in-turn, the channel. A Nintendo rep stated that as of right now, this is the only method available for downloading the Channel. If we know Nintendo, they won’t offer another method…ever.
