RUMOR - Nintendo planned Kid Icarus for 2008

Here’s a rumor where Nintendo was actually upset about their own delay. Most of the time, the Big N knows that a game’s release date is going to be pushed back. I mean, they publish and provide input for a lot of their first-party titles. It would be hard for them not to know! The situation with Kid Icarus was a bit different, though.

From what we know, Kid Icarus was being revived by Factor 5. Rumor has it that Nintendo was going to launch this title sometime in 2008, a few months after it was set to debut at E3 2008. Unfortunately, Factor 5 got themselves into a bit of trouble, and the game was put on hold. Nintendo wasn’t expecting this setback, and was let without their Kid Icarus for 2008.

So…what happens now? Will Nintendo float a loan to Factor 5 in order to get the game wrapped up? Will the project be canned altogether? Will Nintendo end up taking development of Kid Icarus in-house?
