…the driving force behind hardware like the Wii and the PS3 is Internet conductivity. With games making an obvious move towards online, we may need to rethink the significance of selling games in a package. Of course for the time being, this is very much a console market. But when you look one or two years down the road we must consider the state of the game console market. But I am always looking at things long-term, trying to figure out the direction things are going and act on that before anyone else. That is very important for a company and for developers. And I believe that is the role I play. - Keiji Inafune

Hmmm…even with new VC and WiiWare titles to grab every week, online aspects of the Wii are the last thing I think of. Perhaps Monster Hunter 3 will change my view. Check out the full interview here
