Trouble at the Nintendo World Store Pokemon Platinum event - real deal, or part of the plan?

I’m not sure whether Nintendo put this together, or if it was some crazy guy causing trouble. I’m leaning towards Nintendo putting it together, and I’ll tell you why a little bit later.

Word has it that the Pokemon Platinum launch event was almost spoiled by none other than Team Rocket. They were hanging fake event posters that discussed the distribution of a mystery gift…one that was completely bogus.

Eventually, the police showed up and hauled Team Rocket off. I guess it’s a little hard to ‘blast them off’ in the real world.

So why do I think this was planned? Well, below you can see a picture of one of the guys involved.

I’ve seen this guy at almost every Pokemon event I can think of at the Nintendo World Store. Either he absolutely snapped, or the event staff was working with him to just have a little fun. Which one do you think it is? Thanks to BPC and Alex for the heads up!
