Dear Reader:
GameStop selling used games as new?
Here’s the deal…stick with me on this one. GameStop employees are allowed to check-out one game for as long as 4 days. When those games come back, they are being stuck in with the new games instead of the used ones. That could cause quite a problem. What does GameStop have to say?
“We do not comment on corporate policies that are competitive in nature. As your questions relate to company training, operations and discounting practices, I would not be able to provide feedback.” - Chris Olivera, GameStop vice president of corporate communications
I can vouch for this check-out policy, as I’ve seen multiple GameStop employees discuss it openly in front of me. I never knew that those games were being sold as new, though. That’s just a bit of shady business.
