“I understand our competitors are using… buttons?” - SEGA producer referring to EA’s Grand Slam Tennis while demoing Virtua Tennis 2009 on Wii

I dare you to read the hands-on impressions of Virtua Tennis 2009 (linked below) and not get excited by them. It sounds like SEGA is doing an absolutely fantastic job with the game, showing that the MotionPlus can handle everything you throw at it. You can play the game without the use of any buttons, if you so choose. You can also use the thumbstick to control your player, if that’s how you want to play. Hell, even the controls without the MotionPlus are getting rave impressions.

If that’s not enough to get you excited, try this bit of information on for size…

…the Wii version has 100 per cent of the content and modes of the PS3, 360 and PC releases, online included.

Well Grand Slam Tennis, looks like you’re going to have quite the competition to deal with…
