A portion of a Kansas City Star article…

I never thought I’d be one of those people who would choose a video game over a party. That was before I played “Super Princess Peach,” the game that turns the legendary Mario Brothers on its head.

For decades Nintendo fans have helped Mario and Luigi save the princess. Now Super Princess Peach is no longer the damsel in distress. Now she is the hero rescuing the brothers from their captor, Bowser.

It’s the ultimate game of girl power, and I wanted to win.

For three weeks I lived the DS Life. Fingerprints cover the screen of my pink Nintendo DS Lite.

I’ve lost track of entire evenings playing the game and become a full-blown video-game dork.
