Are we sure midnight EST?

I only saw news for NSMB2 at midnight, but then I've never bought retail off eshop to know if that's normal

Yeah, I know for sure that they did a midnight launch on the eShop for NSMB2 and I'm pretty sure they did it for Paper Mario as well.

It is. I bought NSMB 2 and Paper Mario at that time. Trust me, you'll see people post "It's available now on the eShop" in about 40 minutes.

The game is now up for download on the eShop.

I can't imagine retailers being happy about this.

So, I went to the Gamestop where I reserved it (to get that sweet artbook) this morning, and two things happened:

1. Store opened an hour later than the online locator says, so I had to wait about 20 mins before I could go in. Not that big a deal.
2. Asked if they had it, and was told the shipment hasn't come in yet. Sadness.

They had the artbook in though, so I got that.

UPDATE: Just called the store to get an update, and was told it probably won't be in for a another couple of days.

I LOVE THE GAME!
but there is one exception. I think it is a bug as it occurs EVERYTIME. So I want Japanese voice acting. Done. there is a button in menu that can do that. But once you are done playing and turn off, and go back to game, it is not in japanese anymore but now in English. But this only happens to the small speaks. The only part that is in Japanese is the movie parts. So what I did to fix this problem is go to the menu and change it back to english and change it back to japanese. And it will be japanese...only for that game play till you close software. I think they should fix this, soon.
Hi. This may be me.

Saw the game at Target tonight, would have bought it if not for the fact that:

A. I've put $5 down at Gamestop
B. the artbook.

Seriously, dealing with stupid crap like this in the past is why I can't remember the last game I've bought from them. This better be a nice artbook.

Just out of curiosity, to anyone who owns the game already, after you set the difficulty modes at the beginning of the game, will you be able to change at any time, or if you want to change difficulty would you have to restart the game?

I will definitely be playing in perma-death mode. Makes each battle actually mean something, in my opinion.

Can't ever change it, so if you want to play on a different difficulty, you play on a different file.

It doesn't have terribly many pages, but what is in it is quality. Being fairly well-made, a glossy two-page center spread, and an embossed cover make this worth it imo.

So the game is amazing! I'm doing casual but trying to not ever lose a ally. By the way how to do you spell
(Fredericson or Frederickson)? Or both ways?

It is not a real spoiler! I just felt like putting it in there...
Check something out that is cool=open spoiler.
Spoiler:
Found a "My Body is Ready" quote from a character. :D

Re: Fire Emblem: Awakening (Coming to America!)

So a funny thing happened today regarding this freaking game...

Spoiler:
It was a bit mentally-infuriating, but now I find it hilarious in retrospect.

I stopped by the store on my way to school, like I planned to. After a bit of a wait (the line was lengthy but none of the other customers were after FE, unsurprisingly), I walk up to... *glances at receipt* ...Andy, the one manning the register, and inquire about the status of the game. He said there weren't any in stock. I then ask about the preorder copies. He says the same thing, then adds that they expect it to be in stock on Friday. Dismayed, I was just about to leave when I ask about the art book. He explicitly said those weren't in, either!

Then, I say how most people who preordered got their art book anyway, so I asked him again to make sure. He asks me if I really did preorder it-- that's when I went all TAKE THAT! and presented my evide... err, receipt. (sorry, too much Phoenix Wright lately)

So, what happens next?

Apparently, I must've broken an invisible Psyche-Lock or two, as he walked to the back of the store beyond the door, promptly emerging from there WITH the art book in hand. He places it on the counter next to my receipt, heading to the left of the counter and rummaging for something there. I assume, from the sound I heard, that he was simply looking for a bag to house the art book in...

...when I see a 3DS game box in his hand! I don't think I need to mention which game it was.

At that point, my mind pulls a Miyamoto and fills with all kinds of duck. Of course, to prevent a scene, I keep up my friendly demeanor the entire time. I'm all like "Ahaha, ya almost got me there!", pointin' fingers and all like a comedy skit on TV. He then pulls a Pokey and apologizes profusely, and blurts out this very same phrase, unmodified for your perusal:

"Sorry for deceiving you, see we only had three copies and were saving them for those who preordered it."

...

Really?! Come on! If I say I preordered it, all you had to do was ask for any proof of it instead of constantly denying me access to one of those copies and killing off a potential sale! Raptor Jeebus! If "deceive thy customer" is their idea of a business practice, then it's no wonder plenty of people shun the company*.

*this is the very first time I've had this kind of service with them, putting aside their habits with "new" games, so please don't go all cynical on me

Ah, well. At least I finally got the darn thing. I didn't mind waiting at all, but they didn't have to "deceive" me.
