Poll: Best Wii Game of All Time

Hello again, guys! Welcome to the Wii Game of the Generation (GOTG) Poll! I know it's kinda sad to see the Wii go, but lets give our old friend a big hug, k? With so many Wii games out right now, it's gotta be hard to choose our favorite game for the console, but the time to do that is now. What's the best Wii game of all time?

The ten games listed above are the top ten games of this year per platform based on the average rating as determined by GameRankings.com. Both Rock Band games were omitted from this list because, well, that seriously isn't going to be your choice for Game of the Generation, right? Also, Metroid Prime 3 was omitted from the list because it is included in the Metroid Prime Trilogy package. If you want to vote for Metroid Prime 3, vote for Metroid Prime Trilogy instead.

I feel like it's kind of not fair to include Resident Evil 4, Okami or Twilight Princess, since they are all previous gen games (cry all you want, TP is a Gamecube game. It'd be like including New Play Control! Titles on here).

I'd have complained about Prime Trilogy, but since Prime 3 is included in it, I accept the inclusion.

Xenoblade, Brawl and Galaxy 2 would be my top votes, with Skyward Sword teetering near it. I voted Xenoblade, but I honestly can't choose between the ones I mentioned, since they all fill important roles in my Wii library.

I also voted for SSBB since it is by far my most played game on the Wii, according to Nintendo channel my second most played game is a good 1500 hours less than it
Skyward Sword was kind of disappointing. I would have like a less empty sky, less back and forth to the same place, and a final boss than wasn't super easy and generic. And I liked Super Mario Galaxy 1 and NSMBW more than 2. I'm starting to dislike 3D games

I voted for Galaxy because it was that initial wow that really convinced me to get a Wii ( other than Wii Sports of course).
The choice was actually kind of tough for me due to a combination of games I still haven't played yet and the games I did play I really enjoyed. As a honorable mention I think Goldeneye is a good choice as it brought back some memories for me personally.

Twilight Princess. My favorite zelda game and one of my top ten games of all time.

It honestly came down to SSBB and Super Mario Galaxy [Not 2] for me. But I ended up choosing SSBB.

For one, I could never get into Okami and Xenoblade Chronicles. Never played Rayman Origins or Resident Evil 4 or any of the Metroid Prime series. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is just Galaxy 1.5. It wasn't as groundbreaking as the first, still a good game, but doesn't beat out the first one, imo. And lastly, Twilight Princess was good, but I agree with MoldyClay that it's really a GC game only with New Play Controls. Oh, and Skyward Sword is more like 'Awkward Sword' to me.

So that's my reasoning in voting for SSBB. Probably one of my favorite games of all time...Loved the roster, loved the single player campaign/story/cinematics, and the hours upon hours of battling with my friends was just amazing. The only thing that sucked about this game was the online [inb4 someone mentions tripping].

One game that should be here is Donkey Kong Country Returns, but I understand why the ones are listed.

I wouldn't personally pick any of those games, but if I did I might have to go with Metroid Prime Trilogy, which shouldn't even really qualify since two-thirds of it is content from the previous generation, and the one new game included is available separately.

This was a tough choice to make, I really liked Super Mario Galaxy and I really liked Super Smash Bros Brawl.

But as a hardcore and somewhat obsessed Mario fan in general, I just had to vote Super Mario Galaxy. Was it perfect? Not quite. But it was still a fantastic game with some of the best graphics and music on the system and some fantastic level design and gameplay mechanics, so I just had to vote for it.

Not to mention, it was the game that got me to buy a Wii. I can still remember those first few hours of playing this game now...

well from that list, it's easy for me: super mario galaxy (1).

although the wii game that made the most impact on me personally was Muramasa, although from pure nostalgia, twilight princess also gives me sweet launch day memories... anyway, i would love an HD re-release of muramasa, with or without the new dlc.

My thoughts on most of them:

Super Mario Galaxy, though a forgettable story, is all sorts of fun.
Had fun with Resident Evil 4.
Brawl was a fun party game.
Really liked Twilight Princess.
Skyward Sword got extremely annoying and didn't leave much of a impression on me.
Xenoblade is really fun. Haven't finished it, but fun. There are some annoyances early on, though.

Excellent list. Had to seriously think about it for a minute. In the end though I'm happy to put Super Mario Galaxy as my choice. It was as refreshing as it was flawless. And, along with its sequel, still one of the system's best looking games.

Both Zeldas just fell short of greatness, by the smallest of margins. Twilight Princess never managed to tower out from underneath Ocarina's immense shadow, and Skyward Sword's world felt too fragmented to really capture the same sense of adventure.

Galaxy 2 and Brawl were the other two I'd consider. G2 wasn't as exciting as the first, mainly because we knew pretty much what to expect. And Brawl disappointed a bit too much with its online multiplayer and offline single player modes to feel like a 'game of the gen'.
