I definitely is an awesome game. Part of me wishes it were shorter so it could be more easily replayable though. I feel like I should be at 45 hours in or so instead of 67.

Did you have to grind a lot? I've started playing it and so far for me, I haven't had to grind at all, but a lot people claim they did, so I'm curious. Out of those 67 hours, how much do you think you spent on grinding.

10-15 hours maybe. There's one section near the end that's a pain to play through. Other than that, if you play the game correctly, there's very little grinding involved.

EDIT: To clarify, I'm talking about by the end of the game you might have to grind 10-15 hours. Most of the grinding takes place after the part KingBroly has just finished.

I feel like the place I was just would be a place you would like to grind. Lots of high leveled enemies with lots of HP that do lots of damage. I died A LOT in this area. Not to mention I was under-leveled for the area boss by 4 levels.

i did not have to grind much at all. but i did take a slower approach to the game in general. I wandered around looking for landmarks and secret areas, as well as completing side quests. finding those secret areas gives you a lot more EXP than a half hour of grinding.

Where is/are the Points of No Return for Timed Side Quests? Put them in Spoiler Tags please.

I'm lv.57/58 right now. I sort of got sidetracked trying to do Timed Side Quests and get additional Skill Trees (I only got 1 more). I need to do a lot more Quests for Frontier Village to get more of them.

Spoiler:
-When you are given a Yes/No prompt when progressing forward from the FA area where you get character 7, all the quests in SV and GF will expire if you choose Yes.

-When you fight a level 70 story boss, all the quests in the previous couple areas leading up to that boss will either lock you out straight-up or become really difficult to get to once you beat him -- you can still complete some of them, but all fast travel in those areas get disabled, so you will be doing a loooooooot of backtracking to get to them.

-After the level 70 boss and subsequent events, you will be a given a Yes/No prompt by a guy offering you a ride in a ship. If you choose Yes, all the quests in/related to Alcamoth will expire.

Can someone tell me how close I am to finishing the game? I'd rather not Google it so I can avoid spoilers.

Right now I...
Spoiler:
...am at Mechonis Field (Just entered it from the foot). In other words, I just got done with everythign on the Fallen Arm.

I hardly do any of the side quests because the story is too good to stop continuing it. :)

I'm not that far yet, but you know there were timed side-quests that you can't go back and do after a certain time?

You're not done yet. I'd say you've maybe one-fifth left. If not more. (It feels longer but I'm trying to think of it in the grand scheme of it all. Xenoblade is one of those unique* truly massive games.)
It's not your last field by any means. Plenty more to go. :D

*As in it's soooo long but it never gets boring for it.

Not really interested in doing everything in the game. Maybe I'll try if I do another go at it.

Understandable, but could have at least knocked out the timed ones only that way you could beat the game and tackle side-quests whenever you felt the itch to fire it up instead of having to play through a 100 hour game again to get 'em. Would have helped with feeling u were missing something after beating it. Anyways, no biggie.

I recently started this up again. I never really got too far in my first file, and it was a long time ago, so I just started over. I guess I was sorta apprehensive to keep going cause I'm a completionist and I had heard how long the game was and I could tell there were a lot of side quests.

But I'm really excited to get through the game cause I loved it back when I started and I've heard such good things about it. So here we go. :P

Is there any way I can still buy this and not have it be like 100 bucks?

I wanted it from the beginning, just never got around to buying it. :(

Best bet is to check Gamestops and see if they have it, otherwise, probably not. Or, if you have any other local used game stores besides Gamestop(I have a few) you could check them and maybe they won't realize what they have. maybe even Best Buy's used section.

If the Wii and Wii U were not region-locked, you could have imported it from Europe pretty cheaply.

Wii systems are getting pretty cheap, you could always import the system too. Xenoblade is worth it and you'd have options to import other games as well. Though, if Xenoblade is all you want, might just have to pay the hundo.

Make sure you guys do the character quests (affinity iirc?). I think the first town had a Xenoblade art if you got it to max. It comes INCREDIBLY useful for one of the later bosses and eases stress levels. I didn't know about the art so I never got it but reading what it does makes it one of the most useful arts in the entire game.

Well, I didn't really defeat the game, but I looked up the ending on YT since the last few boss fights are horrendous if you're under-leveled like I was. I'm actually thinking of doing another play-through and try to go for 100%, but man...that'll take a while.

Anyways, all I have to say is: 'X' better be a sequel! :D
