I'm also excited to get my hands on a mature racing game again. I love mario kart but miss the look and feel of a "realistic" racing game. It's a shame there were so few for the wii and many of the ones that were released were not very good and lacked on-line play. I'm looking forward to Project Cars and the next NFS.

Wait for Rayman Legends or just get ZombiU for that "new console" feel.

When I get my deluxe black Wii"U" (someday) I'll be getting New Super Mario Bros U.

Well Rayman honestly graphically looks incredible. The art style is just awesome. Find a wii u demo station and check it out.

As for what to get, counter question. Do you have a PS3 or 360? If not I'd also consider Assassin's Creed III. I know there is some AC III hate, but you won't see anything like it on the Wii.

Edit: I completely forgot Batman. Arkham City is simply amazing. If you do not have PS3 or 360 GET THIS (unless it some how gets terrible reviews). Huge open world, great music, great voice acting. Game is also very fun.

What Wii U Game Should I Get At Launch?

Postby StreetPassWanter » 10 Nov 2012 21:45

I want a really good single player game that has 30-40 hours of game play (no more because then I get tired of it, like Zelda) and some awesome online. I like fighting games, but only when there isn't so many combos that there's like a million gazillion of them *glares at Street Fighter*. I'm also not fond of smashing A really fast games, as I'm terrible with those. I played the Rayman demo and loved it (especially the music level), though that's coming out in 2013. My favorite games are Kid Icarus: Uprising, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Rhythm Thief, and Kingdom Hearts 3D. Any questions? Thank you!

I heard that games is full of combos, though. @_@

Anyways, I also like rhythm games, action + adventure games, platformers, and I always wanted to try out an FPS that doesn't have the controls of the 360/PS3 (I can't play them like that).

Must Buy Wii U Launch Games

Postby Hallnavy » 18 Nov 2012 21:10

I'm having a horrible time sitting on my hands waiting for my Wii U to arrive on Tuesday, so I thought I'd ask the question: What are the must-buy Launch games, that you've played.
ZombiU is arriving Tuesday as well, but hearing all the horribly mixed reviews, I'm a little worried.

What do you all think?

since there have been a plethora of threads asking for the same/similar info; i've merged as many as i could find and renamed the topic.

also, i'll be peppering this message in various places, but you can now add your Nintendo Network ID to your profile so it appears along with your avatar and other systems in posts. So making threads to display/show/trade this info is no longer necessary, and will be cleaned away.

Trine 2 is an action platformer with puzzles. Most people love it for it's co-op multiplayer, but I have always liked playing it just by myself.
The Director's cut that is on eShop includes the expansion pack (Goblin Menace) and one WiiU exclusive level.
I recommend it.

Here's the trailer:

EDIT:

Here's the first review I could find

I love both Tekken Tag 2 and NSMBU so far. Tekken Tag 2 is a must for fighting game lovers. NSMBU is definitely a recommendation as well, especially if you love 2D platformers.

I haven't gotten NG3 or Warriors Orochi 3 yet, but when I do, I'll be able to see if I can recommend those games too.

When you get a Wii U

Postby lazerbyte » 27 Nov 2012 13:14

What all do you need when you get a Wii U?

Does it come with a charger for the pad and a HDMI cable?

Also what accessories do you need?

Any suggestions on games?

No need to get snippy sheesh was just asking a legitimate question for those that had gotten one as sometimes the information is incorrect as I have found out with many products.

Those that bought the white one didn't get the stuff that the black one has also so that is important information as well.

I guess this tells me NOT to ask questions on here as I'm gonna get my head bitten off!

You shouldn't be offended as he was making a suggestion and he even graciously gave you a helpful link. :P

Don't let this ruin your preception of everyone here. Some of us really are friendly.

Btw get the usual 1st party games and if theres a 3rd party game that interests you, get it.

Was certainly not meaning to offend. I was trying to point out that sometimes it's better (and certainly quicker) to go straight to the source - in this case Nintendo's OWN website! - to get the information you seek.

Back on topic: 'Any suggestions on games?' is kind of like asking 'Any good movies out?' - it depends a lot on your tastes and what kind of games you enjoy. So, I would ask you, what kind of games did you enjoy playing on the Wii, or what kinds of games do you enjoy playing on other systems? The Wii U launch lineup of games certainly had a wide array of genres and you're certain to find at least one game you would enjoy. Nintendo Land is a lot of fun and I really enjoyed NSMBU. The cool thing about the eShop now is that most of the games are released there so you can just pick one up when you feel like it! Plus, most of them have movies you can watch to get a feel for the game. AND (yes, there's more!) now with Miiverse you have a whole community of people talking about each game where you can go and learn more about the game from people who have played or are even playing right now.

If you only plan on getting one game to start, I would say make it New Super Mario Bros. U. Other than that, as Popple said, it depends on what you like. ZombiU is supposed to be really good, but those types of games are not really 'up my alley'.
