Is anybody else getting an update today? I turned on my Wii U right now and it started updating! I'll post later whether or not it enables the Nintendo TVii service! :D

haha, i love the excitement. the update was there last night. sadly, no nintendo tvii update yet. but it does improve stability and freezing issues. apparently speeds up os functions a little bit, too.

Got the update last night. It started downloading in the Background. I always turn on my Wii U on when I come home from work.

Noticed it was downloading when wara wara plaza stuttered a bit as I was exiting from Miiverse.

I live in BC

Check your download tasks (found when you hit the HOME button) and see if it is downloading/has already downloaded. If not you can prompt it to check for a system update.

I guess they improved compatibility?

Also, I love the Wii U browser.

I saw something on the site that said that previously the Wii U wouldn't recognize external HDD larger than 2TB and with the update it now recognizes them (although it only lets you use 2TB of storage on it, still).

Q1 ends in March. So we're likely not to get any information before then about April - June releases.

So after the update my wiiu is locking up at the rate of about once per 30 min. This is so awesome. They need to just farm out everything but games at this point.

I just got my Wii U today. I updated the console, set up an NN ID, and left the house. The update took me roughly an hour (download and install) I didn't think I was going to get one so soon, but I was able to get one at a good deal.

Remember how Nintendo announced that NN Premium in the UK would only give 8 points per £1.....?

Well it turns out that it's 10 points per £1 :D :D

Yeah, I noticed we got the full 10%. I was annoyed about the bait and switch to 8% I'd heard about, so I'm VERY happy this is the case. Good job, Nintendo. I'll continue my plan to be digital only this gen after all. If only I could trade my damn Nintendoland disk for a download code!

Yo, folks. Got my Deluxe Wii U on Wednesday, but didn't set it up until Thursday. I can say though that I'm very happy with it. It's just awesome to play games, be on the internet and more on the gamepad while having the tv going.

BTW, the update took no more than 50 minutes to download & 10 minutes to install for me. Pretty good time IMO; And I added my NNID to my profile info, so if you want to friend me you know what to put in.

All of this typed on my Gamepad. AWESOME. :)
To all 3DS and Wii U users; Hit me up with a request so we can be friends!! :D

I know I shouldn't be giving into speculation, but lets say hypothetically that the DualPixels post was right about Nintendo having an announcement at E3 that would be more shocking than Bayonetta 2? I pesonally believe that if thats true, then the title might be Kingdom Hearts 3. Just looking at the string of KH games makes me think. Idk, maybe I am overhyping/overthinking the situation.

Just out of curiosity, what's the difference between adding a friend on your friends list and over Miiverse?

When adding a friend on miiverse, a notification will be sent to the person being befriended. While inputting the user name of a user on the friends list will say "provisionally set friend" and no notification will be sent supposedly saying that "I want to be friends with you."

I could be wrong, but it seems quite similar of how you add Contacts in YouTube. Except maybe a tad more complicated when adding a Friend on Miiverse. I don't know since I don't own a Wii U yet.

Which is why friend requesting on Miiverse is so much easier, but so many people just add others on the friends list and go online to tell them to add them back. It frustrates me to no end.

There shouldnt be any difference between the two ways, the friends app should work just like the miiverse finder. Why having a reliable friend search and befriending system only on miiverse and not also on the dedicated app that is available everywhere with a press of the Home button?

Do not believe anything DualPixels says, the same source said we would get WoW and DOTA...

Remember that Dual Pixels said the last NOA Nintendo Direct would be all about Hardware announcements, including the Fire Emblem 3DS, Pikachu 3DS and AC 3DS. Anyone remember how right they were? Well, they weren't. So...yup. Don't listen to them.

Really, that would make the most sense. I feel like they threw the Friends List together based on the 3DS before Miiverse was finalized and never updated it.

Holy mother of God! It seems the the $4250 price we have over here was actually WITHOUT taxes :x which is basically a 21% increase in price just because of doing things legally..... I guess I'll risk myself to the second hand market and forget about getting a warranty, or be really patient

Momiji DLC was released yesterday for Razor's Edge. Kasumi will be out by the end of the year. Momiji is pretty awesome in my opinion. The framerate however...is not. Maybe I should try bumping it down to 720p to see if that improves it...at all.

Sadly, we're in code red in terms of Wii U's future
- ScrewAttack's Hard News is dissing the Wii U like no tomorrow
- Pachter might be right in terms no support for it in the near future
- no word on Wii U's virtual console... AT ALL
