I slightly worried too. But i'm still optimistic, nintendo probably know what they're doing (They have a lot of experience) and it's far too early to make assumptions. (Still in launch period) I'm not saying the Wii U's garenteed to not fail (With casual gamers only caring about no button endless runners and faux "hardcore" gamers only wanting the "UBER 1337 SH00TERZ" That will inevilatbly be on microsoft (And to a lesser extent sony's) system puts nintendo between a rock and a hard place. But we should only judge when the wii U has enough time to settle down.

tl:dr Nintendo's gonna have a hard time. But now's not the time to spew "NINTENDOO IZ D000MED!!!11!" rubbish

Not to mention almost all the big third party games of 2013 are skipping the console, and after that everyone is going to switch gears to the ps4/720. The wiiu will be home to nintendo first party games again. I think we're looking at a second gamecube situation here.

Kotaku actually contacted the developers/publishers for a good amount of the 2013 multi-platform games and other than the ones that have already been announced, they were all a resounding NO.

Eh, I would be ok if it was a Gamecube 2, amazing non gimmicky games and better looking multiplats (thats how it was that time).

Yeah I'm OK with another GameCube situation. If anything interests me that doesn't hop over to Wii U, then hopefully the laptop I plan on getting can handle it. If not or it's not on PC, I'm now in a position to freely spend my money on a second console.

I don't think we should expect anything from E3 anymore, Nintendo has their own way of releasing news whenever they want with Nintendo Directs now. Besides its way too early to tell if Nintendo is going to be failure this gen which I don't think is the case. Sure we might not get a lot of third party games but we are all used to that by now. Anyway, I've gotten loads of fun out of my Wii U, I can already tell its gonna be better than the Wii.

I think a lack of information will be just as telling, unless they're stupid enough to hold back major announcements again for press videos that no one other than Nintendo fans watch.

Nintendo needs to "win E3" so I'm expecting them to hold of on the BIG announcements then.

My hope is that they've realized how crucial E3 2013 is and that's the reason why so much information has been held back this past year. They really need to excite people in order to steal attention from the new consoles.

I'm hoping those big announcements are 1st party games. As a Nintendo fan there has been absolutely nothing for me to get excited about the Wii U's future. Yes theres the usual games we know will be coming but I have yet to see anything from them. Not even a fricken logo… THROW ME A BONE HERE NINTENDO! Plus theres been too much focus on 3rd parties lately. Ports or just some of these 3rd party games overall do not excite me. :-/

We get 3rd party titles: "Where's all the 1st party Nintendo franchises?? Nintendo, you suck!!!"

^^The thing is most people here rarely ask for 1st party titles once they're satisfied with the 3rd parties games they've received. 1st party games are just a bonus to them. I'm quite the opposite however. ;)

for a number of reasons, i'm not on the wii u bandwagon. to latch onto the last couple posts' ideas:

what would interest me from first party would be a totally new IP; completely unrelated to anything in their existing catalogue. and not something that requires a new peripheral or is primarily composed of miniature-sized experiences, wink wink.

third parties: a new zack and wiki, and muramasa hd with some of that DLC.

The Rayman Legends Demo is now available on the eShop, with 3 playable levels, with all 4 characters being usable. The Castle Rock stage is the only one that doesn't have a proper scoring system because it's a special stage.

Well, if the reports are true about Nintendo starting massive restructuring at the end of the year and Miyamoto-san starting to teach the next generation of designers at Nintendo while coming up with new IP's for the company, I believe you'll get your wish.

Sorry but with all due respect, I think that's the major problem recently with not just Nintendo but also with Sony & Microsoft.

The gamers of today who grew up with games since the NES days have this demand now for perfection with everything, and want everything they could ask for with a snap of the finger, 1st or 3rd party.

I wish for certain games to be made in the future, but constantly attacking, berating and insulting said companies for not having it for them right then and there is wrong and a waste of time & energy.

We can tell Nintendo what we want & wish for, but can't we just do it without threatening to lunge a sword in their throats? :|

@KoopaStomper27
I completely agree.

They've grown less patient plus they demand games that cater to just them. AKA "Mature titles" They want mature titles from Nintendo because they claim they've "grown up", meaning any ip with rainbows and sunshine will get thrown aside by them. As we all would have guessed they moved on to other consoles where they've become spoiled-to-death on. They take one good look at the Wii U for example and ask "Wheres all the year-long 3rd party releases, PSN/XboxLive, achievements, next gen HD graphics, etc.?!!" Once they get their answer (unsatisfyingly) like you said they will attack, berate and insult the "said" company without an ounce of shame for wasting their time and energy complaining for not being satisfied.

Sadly no, these people will not ask kindly. I on the other hand was hoping Nintendo would throw me some scraps or something. XD

I understand, though for me Nintendo Land is giving me my fill; From stamps to prizes to Platinum medals and Master Ranks the game has a lot for me to achieve. :D And I haven't even bought NSMBU yet(Planning to get it later with another Wii U title in the next week or two)!!

This is a little off the current topic, but can anyone confirm any solutions to latency coming from the TV? I felt like it didn't deserve its own topic so I might address it here for a short bit. The Wii U displays the right feed, and it's like .2 seconds of lag on the TV. I just need a quick response to this...so uh thanks in advance and stuff.
