Bipolar as a sledgehammer.....what the heck does "Gen4" even mean anyhow?

The fourth generation of consoles that could do polygons. Go figure how they decided that...

That said, I might not have read the quote well, but did he specifically group Wii U in their Gen4 graphics class (which means it can use PS4/XB1 assets, effects, physics, etc), or he just grouped it as a "next-gen" console in the same way Wii is Gen7 with PS360?

Well, whatever it is, it's a clear backtrack of what he said in March about EA not considering it Gen 4. All of this stuff really started turning around after that Xbone reveal. It's crazy.

To be fair, IIRC, what he said back then was that their breakthrough with next gen tech hadn't started, not that Wii U wasn't gen8. I really would like to know in what category the Wii U stands to them. If they aren't bothering working on it, is he talking out of its arse or Wii U trully can handle their gen4 tech?

Who knows. He says their relationship with Nintendo is good, and I sorta don't buy that considering the "effort" they put into Wii U at launch and the stuff Crytek said about EA and Nintendo not having a deal in place, whatever that meant.

Apparently, Basic Wii Us are being recalled at Best Buy too:

Surely they will announce the white deluxe on tuesday.

So i'm guessing the NoA person who recently reported about the recalls being misunderstood (as in not axing the basic models, but merely re-organizing them while they could still be found in stores) sorta missed the mark now?

From Emily Rogers: http://www.gamingvlog.net/2013/06/09/ni ... st-leaked/

4 Best Buy Demos might be (probably are):
- New Super Luigi U
- Pikmin 3
- The Wonderful 101
- The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

Absolutely devastating that NSLU is in there and not 3D Mario.

While I'm still not 100% if these are true (given the slapped-together variety of the ad), it is rather disappointing.

That said, now that I think about it, not surprising. These are the four games that are coming out sooner rather than later, and are also probably the most completed, meaning there is far less chance that somebody would come across a bug or an unrefined product.

It makes even less sense that they are only at stores now. They need eShop demos for those, AT LEAST for Wonderful 101. That game needs to sell well cuz it's awesome!

Also, tin foil hat time.

On June 3rd, Retro Studios' website updated the game icons for Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, Metroid Prime 3 and Metroid Prime Trilogy.

LOL, I got three of them

This means they really plan on launching Wii Fit U at the holidays or next year... Just add the improvements to Miiverse already.

Bad list is bad, Ughh.....

But 3D Mario will still be playable at E3, right?

What icons? I only saw the game logos in the "Games" section of their website (which looks extremely amateurish; they need to redesign their website so it doesn't look like a 1990's blog).
I don't want an "all-in-one" multimedia system. I want a GAME console. ~ (me after the Xbox One reveal)

yea, DLC should NOT be a marquee title.

and you're right W101 needs to be an eshop demo. That game is going to need a serious push to get over the 50k mark.

Don't get too twisted with your knickers, probably an update to their site to bring a refreshed information about their history under Nintendo. If anything making preparations for the next game being added, not to mention a new layout, which is what this is telling me.

To people complaining (per usual) about the supposed demo choices, NSLU may be "DLC", but it's also an entire game, not just some bonus content. And it's being released as a special limited edition stand-alone retail version in August. I don't think it's a big deal. We're ALL going to see Super Mario U, and we'll all play it later this year. People really need to chill.

Also, NO THANK YOU to Metroid Prime 4. That is all.

I could get behind a new Prime, but done in a 3rd person view. I think if they are gonna try a new trilogy(or anything) they should do it differently to separate itself from the original Prime trilogy.

I never would have guessed that the console would price itself towards only 500USD at all.

Nintendo would be smart to announce a $300 deluxe Wii U model with a pack in game. That would really help them against the overpriced competition this holiday season.

Mandatory Kinect is my guess. When things start to look bad we can guess what they'll ditch from the pakage.

Pack it up, gentlemen! Looks like the doomsayers are right all along. Better sell your systems, and torch Nintendo offices, we are done here. We were so stupid in thinking after six months the Wii U would been with over a hundred games! Silly us.
